Position Title: Business Finance Manager

Job Summary:
The Business Finance Manager is responsible for driving financial insights and performance across various business functions. The role requires expertise in cost optimization, capital budgeting, product costing, variance analysis, and strategic financial decision-making. This position will work closely with key stakeholders such as the factory, supply chain, plant operations, and senior management to ensure efficient financial operations, profitability, and growth. The individual will be instrumental in leading cost control initiatives, evaluating capacity expansion projects, and providing financial support for new product development and pricing strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Costing & Financial Analysis:
- Develop and manage detailed product costing, including direct and indirect costs, to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Lead new product cost analysis, identifying potential financial risks and opportunities during the development stage.
- Prepare and control cost optimization projects, identifying areas for cost reduction without compromising quality or operations.
- Perform cost variance analysis to monitor and explain deviations from budgeted targets and recommend corrective actions.
2. Capital Budgeting & Investment Appraisal:
- Oversee the capital budgeting process, ensuring accurate evaluation of proposed investments in new products, capacity expansion, and other strategic initiatives.
- Lead financial evaluations for capital expenditures (CapEx) and help prioritize capital projects based on ROI, payback periods, and risk analysis.
- Provide detailed financial forecasting for capital projects and monitor progress against budgets.
3. Capacity Expansion & Project Management:
- Manage financial aspects of capacity expansion projects, ensuring budget compliance and timely execution.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to evaluate resource requirements and profitability impacts of proposed projects.
4. Collaboration with Stakeholders:
- Collaborate effectively with factory, supply chain, plant, and operational teams to understand financial drivers and provide actionable insights.
- Support supply chain management in understanding cost drivers and opportunities for cost reduction across the supply chain.
- Engage with the product development team to analyze financial aspects of new product launches and market entry strategies.
5. Pricing & Promotions:
- Lead the development of pricing strategies for new and existing products, ensuring profitability while remaining competitive.
- Provide financial input into promotional activities, helping to assess the financial impact and expected return on investment (ROI).
6. Value Chain & Cost Drivers Analysis:
- Perform in-depth value chain analysis to identify key cost drivers and areas for financial improvement across the production and distribution process.
- Recommend strategies to optimize the value chain, ensuring efficiency and cost-effective production methods.
7. Reporting & Financial Decision Support:
- Prepare business finance reports, including cost analysis, project performance, and capital expenditure reports, for senior management and stakeholders.
- Provide decision-making reports that highlight key financial metrics and trends, offering actionable insights for strategic planning.
8. Continuous Improvement & Process Enhancement:
- Lead initiatives aimed at improving financial processes, reporting accuracy, and overall financial performance.
- Stay up-to-date with industry best practices and emerging financial tools/technologies to enhance business finance practices.
Education: Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification is mandatory.
Experience:
- Minimum of 4+ years of experience in front desk costing, capital budgeting, cost optimization, and financial analysis.
- Experience in new product cost analysis, capacity expansion projects, and product control.
- Strong knowledge of supply chain costing, variance analysis, and financial decision-making.
- Proven track record in managing capital budgets and leading cost optimization projects.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong understanding of cost drivers, product costing, and pricing strategies.
- Proficiency in financial modelling and capital investment appraisal techniques.
- Ability to work cross-functionally with teams such as operations, supply chain, and plant management.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel, ERP systems, and financial analysis software.
