Position Overview: The Maintenance Manager is responsible for planning, organizing, and supervising the mechanical & electrical maintenance activities to ensure the reliability and efficiency of equipment and machinery. This individual will oversee all maintenance operations, prepare and analyze maintenance reports, and contribute to Operations planning and decision making processes. They will be instrumental in driving cost-effective operations while maintaining strong cost controls for the plant(s). The role requires collaboration with both the regional Operations team and plant leadership to provide valuable insights and improve Operational outcomes.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Maintenance Planning:
- Develop and implement maintenance schedules and procedures for all equipment.
- Plan and coordinate preventive maintenance activities to minimize downtime and ensure optimal equipment performance.
- Spare parts management.
2. Supervision and Leadership:
- Lead and manage a team of maintenance staff & technician.
- Provide guidance and training to maintenance personnel.
- Conduct performance evaluations and recommend training or disciplinary actions as needed.
3. Budget Management :
- Collaborate with the finance department to develop and manage the maintenance budget.
- Monitor expenses and identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.
4. Equipment Installations, Inspections and Troubleshooting :
- Conduct regular inspections of equipment to identify potential issues.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot problems, coordinating repairs as necessary.
- Installation and commissioning on new equipment.
5. Inventory Management:
- Maintain an organized inventory of spare parts and equipment needed for maintenance activities.
- Ensure the availability of critical spare parts to minimize downtime.
6. Compliance and Safety:
- Ensure that maintenance activities comply with safety regulations and standards.
- Implement and enforce safety protocols to create a safe working environment.
7. Collaboration:
- Collaborate with other departments, such as production and engineering, to optimize equipment performance and reliability.
- Coordinate with external contractors for specialized maintenance activities.
8. Documentation:
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, equipment history, and maintenance reports.
- Generate reports on equipment performance, maintenance costs, and other relevant metrics.
9. TPM:
- Lead the process of implementation of TPM in 2 plants including training of key staff, periodic meetings, progress review and corrective actions.
