Your role :

We, at Khatabook are looking to hire a Database Administrator . If you want to tackle hard and interesting problems at scale and create an impact within an entrepreneurial environment, this is the place for you.

What would you do at Khatabook ?

- Manage and maintain database systems, ensuring their availability, performance, and security.

- Work with variety of AWS hosted and self hosted databases like PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis, AWS DynamoDB, etc.

- Migrate large AWS hosted PostgreSQL to self hosted with complex querying patterns

- Implement and maintain database security measures, access controls, and backup/recovery strategies.

- Collaborate with development teams to design, implement, and optimize database schemas and queries.

- Monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions to optimize database performance.

- Troubleshoot database-related issues, working with internal teams and external vendors as needed.

- Participate in on-call rotation for 24x7 database support.

- Stay up-to-date with new database technologies, and methodologies, and share knowledge with the team.

- Implement new technologies and improve processes.

Must have :

- Good knowledge of SQL queries and writing optimized queries

- Experience debugging SQL queries for performance issues

- Optimizing DB configurations and SQL queries for best performance to cost tradeoffs

- Experience with Cloud Computing and AWS.

- Knowledge of data security, access controls, and backup/recovery strategies.

- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

- Experience with database administration, specifically with PostgreSQL.

Good to have :

- Experience with MongoDB, DynamoDB

- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process.

- Familiarity with Kubernetes

- Experience with InfoSec audits

- Experience with performance and/or security testing

- 3+ years work experience in Database management and optimization
