Job Summary:

We are looking for a seasoned Senior Manager to lead our I Beam Production team. The ideal candidate will come from the transmission line and distribution industry and have in-depth knowledge of fabrication production processes. This role involves overseeing the shop floor, handling production issues, and ensuring the smooth operation of all machines and production activities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise the shop floor and effectively handle production problems.
• Manage machines including power presses, hydraulic presses, and other conventional machines used for drilling, cutting, marking, punching, and shearing operations.
• Ensure material availability through frequent interactions with the Planning Department.
• Maintain daily production and performance records; accelerate production to meet assigned targets.
• Assign tasks machine-wise and operator-wise, ensuring completion within stipulated timeframes with minimal rework and rejection.
• Coordinate between dispatch, fabrication, and galvanizing to ensure smooth dispatches.
• Collaborate with Planning, Preproduction, and Production teams.
• Plan and produce quality products by minimizing steel wastage.
• Meet targeted production, quality, cost, and delivery schedules.
• Monitor ISO 9001 activities, including documentation, implementation, and record-keeping.
• Oversee CNC machine programming and operations.
• Implement and monitor the quality system at various operational stages.
• Reduce manufacturing costs by designing and developing tools, jigs, and dies to decrease cycle times and enhance productivity.
• Monitor vendor and contractor performance.
• Supervise all activities of the Proto shop.
• Coordinate failure analysis of production defects and customer returns; maintain a database of failures and failed components.
• Ensure shop readiness for internal and external audits for Safety, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and 5S.
• Inspect and test products at all stages of production, including incoming, in-process, and final stages.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 12-15 years of experience in a relevant role within the transmission line and distribution industry.
• In-depth knowledge of fabrication production processes.
• Proven ability to supervise the shop floor and handle production problems efficiently.
• Strong understanding of handling power presses, hydraulic presses, and conventional machines for drilling, cutting, marking, punching, and shearing operations.
• Excellent coordination skills with Planning and other departments to ensure material availability and smooth operations.
• Experience in maintaining daily production records and accelerating production to meet targets.
• Ability to assign tasks effectively and manage timeframes with minimal rework and rejection.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
