As a Manager of Data Engineering at JPMorgan Chase within the Consumer & Community Banking, you lead a critical data engineering team that support our machine learning capability and manage day-to-day implementation activities. you lead multiple teams and manage day-to-day implementation activities. As a member of the leadership team, you are responsible for identifying and escalating issues to ensure your team s work adheres to compliance standards, business requirements, and tactical best practices for all data consumers.

Job responsibilities

• Provides guidance to immediate team of data engineers on daily tasks and activities
• Sets overall guidance and expectations for team output, practices, and collaboration
• Anticipates dependencies with other teams to deliver products and applications in line with business requirements
• Manages stakeholder relationships and the team s work in accordance with compliance standards, service level agreements, and business requirements
• Creates a culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect for team members and prioritize diverse representation

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience. In addition, demonstrated coaching and mentoring experience
• Good experience in designing and developing Data products.
• Hands on experience in AWS Cloud services, Python, pySpark, SQL, and Data Engineering.
• Expertise in Snowflake.
• Good understanding of data fabric concepts.
• Decent understanding on ML models and ML life cycle.
• Proven expertise in design and development of data pipelines from scratch focusing Data quality, security, monitoring, and alerting.
• Good data-driven mindset to lead data strategy discussions with stakeholders.
• In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems
• Ability to train and guide the team towards achieving common goals.
• Capability to deliver constructive feedback and conduct year-end appraisals for the team, while effectively resolving any disagreements.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• Familiarity with Java and/or JavaScript is a plus.
