Purpose of the Position:

This position is responsible for: -

The Business Head Coal Exploration is responsible for leading and driving the overall strategy, operations, and business growth in coal exploration. This senior leadership role focuses on identifying new coal reserves, securing exploration rights, managing stakeholder relationships, and ensuring regulatory compliance. The role requires extensive industry expertise, strategic foresight, and strong leadership to expand the companys coal assets while maximizing profitability and sustainability.

# Develop & implement long-term business strategies for coal exploration & resource expansion

# Identify new exploration opportunities & secure necessary approvals, licenses & permits

# Set financial and operational targets for the coal exploration division and ensure their achievement

Exploration & Project Development

# Oversee the identification, assessment & acquisition of coal exploration sites

# Work closely with geological, technical & engineering teams to evaluate reserves & determine feasibility

# Approve exploration plans, budgets & ensure efficient execution of exploration projects while adhering to timelines & budgets

Market & Competitive Analysis

# Analyse global & regional coal markets to identify new business opportunities

# Provide insights into coal pricing, demand-supply dynamics & investment risks

Regulatory & Compliance Management

# Ensure all coal exploration activities comply with national & international mining regulations

# Implement best practices for environmental sustainability, safety & CSR & to mitigate risks related to legal, financial & environmental factors in coal exploration projects

Stakeholder & Relationship Management

# Build & maintain strong relationships with government agencies, investors, suppliers & industry partners

# Lead in negotiations for strategic partnerships, acquisitions & joint ventures

Financial & Commercial Mngt

# Oversee budgeting, forecasting & financial planning for the coal exploration division

# Secure funding & investments for new exploration projects through partnerships & financial institutions
