Role:

JPL is in the business of building and providing digital services to various businesses both internally and externally. This involves purchasing / building, distributing, and managing the various services including infrastructure and software / services.

This role is to manage the lifecycle of various services and software within the organization, and to ensure compliance with software licensing agreements, maintain accurate records of software licenses and related assets and control costs.

The individual will be responsible for collaborating with various stakeholders, including internal / external IT teams, procurement, and legal departments, to implement effective Managed IT practices and drive operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

Software Asset Management Strategy: Define policies and procedures for software acquisition, deployment, maintenance, and retirement to ensure compliance, cost optimization, and risk mitigation.

License Compliance and Audit: Ensure compliance with software licensing agreements and regulatory requirements. Identify and address any non-compliance issues appropriately.

License Procurement and Optimization: Collaborate with procurement teams to negotiate and procure software licenses and agreements. Optimize software licenses to maximize utilization, reduce costs, and eliminate redundancies.

Software Inventory and Documentation: Maintain a comprehensive inventory of software licenses and related assets. Keep accurate records of license details, purchase agreements, renewal dates, and maintenance contracts. Implement a centralized software asset management tool or system to track software assets and costs.

Process Improvement: Continuously assess and improve processes and workflows. Identify opportunities for automation, streamlining, and standardization to enhance efficiency and accuracy. Implement software asset management best practices and industry standards.

Qualifications and Skills:

1. Bachelors degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent work experience), MBA is preferable with 10-15 years of experience in the field
2. In-depth knowledge of software licensing models, compliance requirements, and industry best practices
3. Ability to lead a small team of 2/3 individual contributors
4. Familiarity with software asset management tools and systems
5. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
7. Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
