Maintenance Planning section Head 3400MW Coal-Based Thermal Power Plant

Desired Qualification & Experience

Bachelors / Masters Degree in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering. 15+ years in maintenance planning & execution in thermal power plants, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.

Roles and Responsibility

• Develop and implement short-term and long-term maintenance strategies for plant equipment, including boilers, turbines, generators, coal handling systems, and auxiliaries.
• Establish best practices for preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance to enhance plant reliability.
• Develop and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for maintenance effectiveness.
• Ensure alignment of maintenance planning with operational goals and safety regulations.
• Implement condition-based monitoring (CBM) and predictive maintenance techniques (vibration analysis, thermography, oil analysis, etc.).
• Maintain a detailed preventive maintenance schedule and ensure execution as per OEM recommendations.
• Develop and oversee maintenance plans for shutdowns, overhauls, and turnarounds.
• Ensure proper planning and availability of spare parts and critical consumables.
• Coordinate with procurement for timely sourcing of spare parts, tools, and services.
• Manage maintenance budgets, cost optimization, and resource allocation efficiently.
• Develop detailed work plans, including task lists, timelines, and resource allocation.
• Review and approve work orders and maintenance schedules.
• Coordinate with operations, engineering, and HSE teams to ensure seamless maintenance execution.
• Lead and mentor the maintenance planning team, ensuring competency development and skill enhancement.
• Ensure proper training and adherence to safety procedures by maintenance personnel.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and teamwork.
• Ensure adherence to regulatory and safety compliance requirements related to plant maintenance.
• Maintain comprehensive records of maintenance history, failure analysis, and technical documentation.
