Civil - Ash Dyke Maintenance -AGM/DGM

Desired Qualification & Experience

Bachelors / Masters Degree in Civil / Construction Engineering. 15+ years in thermal power plants, with at least 5 years in a leadership role

Roles and Responsibility

• Plan and schedule civil construction jobs for ash dyke through preparation of work break-down structures.
• Oversee day-to-day maintenance within the Ash Dyke
• Monitor day-to-day work carried out by contracting agencies with regard to civil construction jobs for ash dyke.
• Manage, mentor, and guide staff to achieve individual and team objectives for Strengthening and Maintenance activities of Ash Dyke.
• Address and resolve Ash Dyke maintenance challenges and performance issues.
• Carry out tests to ensure the quality of the jobs performed by contracting agencies.
• Carry out activities related to indenting for materials provided by JPL to the contracting agencies involved in civil construction for ash dyke.
• Ensure contracting agencies have access to JPL supplied material at the right time to enable them to complete civil construction jobs in time.
• Process bills of contracting agencies with regard to civil construction jobs for ash dyke.
• Ensure civil construction jobs are executed with adequate regard for safety norms.
• Ensure civil construction jobs are performed in line with the labour laws.
• Assist in ensuring that civil inputs are given in time for equipment erection and are within tolerance limits.
• Carry out activities related to preparation of budget and assist in contract closing of civil construction packages.
• Coordinate with other wings of civil construction and other project departments for sharing and collection of information, monitoring activities and resolution of issues.

Functional Competencies:

• Knowledge of civil engineering concepts and construction activities of Ash Dyke.
• Knowledge of testing techniques and procedures for civil construction jobs.
• Awareness of suppliers of material and services for civil construction for ash dyke.
• Knowledge of safety requirements for civil construction jobs.
• Knowledge of labour laws.
• Knowledge of modern construction and erection methods/techniques.
