Head-Ash Handling Plant (AHP)-Power Plant

Job Description: Mechanical Engineer with over 15 years of experience in ash handling systems for large-scale power plants (preferably 200 MW or greater). The ideal candidate should possess extensive expertise in the design, installation, and maintenance of ash handling systems, ensuring efficient and safe processes in power plant operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead mechanical engineering efforts for the installation, operation, and maintenance of ash handling systems in 200MW+ power plants.
• Oversee the project lifecycle from the design, erection, and commissioning of ash handling systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
• Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards throughout the project phases.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to the project execution team, identifying solutions to complex mechanical challenges.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including electrical, civil, and project management professionals, to ensure seamless project execution and success.
• Develop and review detailed technical specifications for ash handling equipment and systems in coordination with the design team.
• Conduct regular inspections and performance evaluations of ash handling systems, recommending corrective actions or improvements as needed.
• Prepare and manage reports, documentation, cost estimates, and technical drawings for mechanical works.
• Liaise with suppliers, contractors, and vendors to ensure the timely delivery of materials, services, and components necessary for ash handling systems.
• Assist in the preparation of operating manuals, procedures, and training materials for plant operators and maintenance teams.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• 15+ years of experience in mechanical engineering, with a focus on ash handling systems for large-scale power plants.
• In-depth knowledge of ash handling technologies, including pneumatic conveying, mechanical systems, and slurry handling systems.
• Having ideas of the ash distribution, marketing & utilisation technologies.
• Proven experience with large-scale power plants (preferably 200MW+).
• Strong expertise in system design, installation, and troubleshooting of ash handling equipment.
• Proficiency in industry-standard software for mechanical design and project management.
• Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in high-pressure environments.
• Familiarity with modern ash handling technologies and best practices in large-scale plants.
• Strong understanding of safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements related to ash handling systems.

• Experience in the mechanical erection and commissioning of ash handling systems in large power plants.
• Knowledge of materials handling, storage, and disposal techniques for ash by-products.
