AGM - Costing

Role & responsibilities

The AGM Costing will be responsible for overseeing the costing processes and systems within the organization. This includes ensuring accurate cost analysis, implementing cost control measures, supporting decision-making with financial insights, and aligning costing strategies with the companys financial goals.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Cost Analysis and Reporting:
• Develop and maintain standard costing systems and procedures.
• Analyze variances between standard and actual costs and provide detailed reports.
• Prepare cost sheets, product costing, and profitability analyses for new and existing products.
2. Budgeting and Forecasting:
• Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and cost estimates.
• Monitor budget adherence and provide insights into cost optimization opportunities.
3. Cost Control:
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement control measures to improve profitability.
• Ensure proper allocation of costs to cost centers and maintain accurate records.
4. Financial Insights and Decision Support:
• Provide cost-related insights to support pricing, product development, and strategic decisions.
• Conduct feasibility studies and cost-benefit analyses for proposed projects or changes.
5. Compliance and Auditing:
• Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and costing standards.
• Coordinate with auditors for cost audits and ensure accurate reporting of cost-related information.
6. Team Leadership and Collaboration:
• Lead and mentor the costing team to achieve departmental goals.
• Collaborate with other departments, including production, procurement, and sales, to ensure cost alignment.
7. Systems and Process Improvement:
• Implement and optimize costing software or ERP systems.
• Continuously improve costing methodologies to ensure efficiency and accuracy.

Educational Qualifications:

• CA/ICWA or equivalent qualification.

Experience:

• 15+ years of experience in costing, preferably in manufacturing, FMCG, or similar industries.
• Proven track record of handling large-scale costing operations and leading teams.

Skills:

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and compliance.
• Strong leadership and team management abilities.
