Job Description

Job Overview:
The Senior Business Development Manager is responsible for identifying and developing business opportunities, driving revenue growth, and promoting the company's services in Thermal Safety, EHS Services, Extractable & Leachable Testing and Biopharmaceutical Testing. The incumbent will lead efforts to acquire new clients, grow existing accounts, and ensure the successful management of intercompany projects.


Business Development & Lead Generation:

  • Identify and pursue target organizations, especially pharmaceutical companies, manufacturing companies that can benefit from the company's services.
  • Develop multi-tier relationships to grow and expand accounts organically.
  • Build and nurture a referral network to generate leads and expand business opportunities.
  • Conduct competitor analysis to gather relevant business data and insights.

Account Management & Client Relations:

  • Strengthen the companys involvement with existing clients, ensuring long-term partnerships.
  • Research and analyze markets, preparing business plans and reports to deliver insights.
  • Facilitate intercompany projects, especially those where clients are local, but testing occurs in overseas labs.
  • Oversee day-to-day business activities and manage revenue targets.
  • Ensure the profitability and margin of intercompany projects.

Strategic Planning & Reporting:

  • Identify, analyze, and report on business opportunities with both existing and potential clients.
  • Contribute to strategic development, planning, and reporting to meet organizational objectives.
  • Manage business opportunity analysis, database building, and market research activities.
  • Support the creation and delivery of purchase requisitions, quotations, and business proposals.

Performance Management:

  • Drive an increase in business revenue, expand business avenues, and facilitate successful intercompany projects.
  • Build a high-performance culture through effective communication, coaching, and performance management.
  • Maintain a focus on customer base expansion by generating new leads and business opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Graduation (BE/B.Tech or M.Sc. in Chemistry), PGDM/MBA in Marketing.
  • Experience: Minimum of 7-8 years of experience in business development, preferably in the safety, pharmaceutical, or testing services industry.

Skills:

  • Strong negotiation and closing skills.
  • Proactive, self-starter with the ability to work independently and within teams.
  • Excellent communication (oral and written), presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • High commercial acumen and the ability to engage with decision-makers at all levels.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and balance both strategic and tactical priorities.

Performance Standards:

  • Growth in business revenue and client base.
  • Expansion of business opportunities, especially intercompany projects with profitable margins.
  • Successful management of lead generation, market research, and client engagement.
