About the job:
Payroll Manager & HR Analytics role combines the essential duties of overseeing payroll operations with the strategic responsibility of leveraging HR data for decision-making.
This position requires a detail-oriented individual with a strong understanding of payroll processes, compliance, and HR analytics tools, providing valuable insights to optimize workforce management and support HR strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
Payroll Management:
Payroll Processing:
- Ensure the accurate and timely processing of employee payroll on a bi-weekly basis.
- Manage payroll adjustments, including bonuses, Variables PMS etc.
- Verify payroll data by reconciling hours, attendance, adjustments, and benefits with HR and other departments.
- Oversee the processing of employee benefits deductions and tax withholding.
Compliance & Reporting:
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations, including tax laws and reporting requirements.
- Prepare and file payroll taxes, including PF, ESI, and income tax, in a timely manner.
- Generate detailed payroll reports (e., tax reports, payroll summaries) for management and auditing purposes.
- Maintain accurate payroll records and prepare for regular audits and reviews.
Employee Support & Communication:
- Serve as the point of contact for employees with payroll-related queries.
- Resolve payroll discrepancies, address questions, and ensure accurate pay distribution.
- Provide communication to employees regarding payroll timelines, deductions, and processes.
HR Analytics & Reporting:
HR Data Analysis:
- Collect, analyze, and interpret HR data (e., turnover rates, employee engagement, compensation, attendance).
- Create actionable reports and dashboards for HR leadership, providing insights into workforce trends and metrics.
- Support the development and tracking of key HR performance indicators (KPIs), such as time-to-hire, retention rates, and training effectiveness.
- Perform predictive analytics to forecast HR trends (e., turnover risk, recruitment needs, etc.
Strategic Workforce Planning:
- Collaborate with HR leaders to develop data-driven strategies for workforce optimization and organizational planning.
- Conduct compensation analysis, job benchmarking, and pay equity assessments to ensure fair and competitive compensation practices.
- Assist in the development of talent management strategies based on data insights to support recruitment, development, and retention efforts.
Reporting & Decision Support:
- Provide regular and ad-hoc reports on HR metrics to inform decision-making and support strategic HR initiatives.
- Analyze HR-related data to improve processes such as onboarding, performance management, and employee satisfaction.
- Present data-driven insights to senior leadership to help shape HR strategies and drive organizational success.
System Management & Process Improvement:
Payroll Software & Analytics Tools:
- Manage payroll and HR analytics software/tools to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
- Implement and improve processes to enhance payroll accuracy and HR data reporting.
- Stay updated on best practices in both payroll management and HR analytics.
- Ensure smooth data integration between payroll and HR systems, improving cross-departmental data flow.
Qualifications & Skills:
Education: Bachelor's degree in human resources, Finance, Accounting, Business Analytics, or related field.
Experience:
- Minimum of 9+ years of experience in payroll management and HR analytics.
- Strong background in payroll processing, compliance, and regulations.
- Proficiency in HR analytics tools (e., Power BI, Excel, HRIS platforms).
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of payroll regulations, tax laws, and compliance.
- Advanced proficiency in data analysis and visualization.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present data insights clearly.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
Preferred:
- Certification in Payroll Management (e., Certified Payroll Professional (CPP)) and/or HR Analytics (e., HR Analytics Certification).
- Experience with HRIS systems and payroll software
- Knowledge of predictive analytics and workforce planning tools
