Plant Head - Manufacturing (12-15 yrs)

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Plant Head to oversee and manage all operations within our manufacturing facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving operational excellence, ensuring safety and compliance, and leading a team of approximately 700 employees in a plant with 12 years of operations.

Key Responsibilities:

- Overall Plant Management: Lead the day-to-day operations of the plant, ensuring efficiency, safety, and productivity across all functions.

- Leadership & Team Management: Oversee a workforce of 700 employees, fostering a culture of high performance, accountability, and continuous improvement. Develop and mentor senior managers and plant staff.

- Strategic Planning & Execution: Develop and execute short and long-term operational strategies, aligning plant objectives with organizational goals. Drive cost optimization, resource management, and lean manufacturing practices.

- Production Management: Ensure that production targets are met while maintaining high-quality standards. Implement strategies to reduce downtime, improve throughput, and optimize supply chain management.

- Compliance & Safety: Ensure strict adherence to safety regulations, environmental standards, and all applicable factory laws. Oversee safety programs and initiatives to prevent accidents and ensure worker well-being.

- Financial Oversight: Develop and manage plant budgets, control costs, and ensure profitability. Identify areas for cost reduction without compromising quality or productivity.

- Quality Control: Establish and maintain robust quality assurance systems to meet regulatory and customer quality standards.

- Signatory Authority: Act as the authorized signatory under the Factory Act, overseeing all legal and regulatory matters related to factory operations.

- Stakeholder Engagement: Regularly report on plant performance to the CEO, board members, and other stakeholders. Collaborate with other departments (HR, Finance, Marketing) to ensure seamless cross-functional alignment.

Key Requirements:

Educational Qualification: CA or Bachelor's degree in Engineering Manufacturing, or related field.

Experience:

- Minimum of 15+ years of experience in plant operations, with at least 10 years in a leadership role as a Plant Head, or similar.

- Proven experience in managing large-scale manufacturing operations and a team of 800+ employees.

- Hands-on experience in plant management, safety, quality control, and regulatory compliance.

Skills & Competencies:

- Strong leadership and people management skills.

- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

- Expertise in manufacturing processes, cost control, lean manufacturing, and process optimization.

- In-depth knowledge of industrial safety, labor laws, environmental compliance, and factory regulations.

- Strong financial acumen and experience managing P&L.
