Job Title: Senior ESG Consultant

Location: Pune

Reports To: ESG Partner

Position Type: Full-time

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior ESG Consultant to join our team and provide expert advisory services on environmental, social, and governance (ESG) matters to clients across various industries. The successful candidate will possess deep expertise in ESG strategy development, sustainability reporting, risk management, and regulatory compliance, helping clients navigate complex ESG challenges and enhance their sustainability initiatives. You will play a pivotal role in shaping ESG strategies and ensuring that clients meet their sustainability goals.

Key Responsibilities:

1. ESG Strategy and Advisory:

- Lead and support the development of comprehensive ESG strategies for clients, aligned with their business objectives and regulatory requirements.

- Conduct ESG assessments, identifying areas for improvement and opportunities for integration into clients' business practices.

- Advise clients on industry best practices and evolving ESG standards and frameworks (e.g., GRI, SASB, TCFD, SDGs).

- Help clients define their ESG vision, goals, and metrics, ensuring alignment with their sustainability objectives.

2. ESG Reporting and Disclosure:

- Guide clients through the preparation of ESG reports and disclosures in line with global reporting frameworks (e.g., BRSR ,GRI, TCFD, SASB, CDP).

- Support clients in understanding and addressing key ESG data points, ensuring transparent, accurate, and reliable reporting.

- Assist in enhancing clients' ESG communications for internal and external stakeholders, including investors, regulators, and the public.

3. Risk Management and Regulatory Compliance:

- Advise clients on identifying, assessing, and mitigating ESG-related risks, such as environmental impact, climate change, supply chain issues, and social governance matters.

- Stay up to date with global ESG regulations, trends, and policies to ensure clients are compliant with current and emerging standards.

- Help clients develop strategies to manage ESG risks effectively, ensuring sustainability and long-term business resilience.

4. Stakeholder Engagement and Education:

- Facilitate workshops and training sessions for client teams to raise awareness of ESG topics, build internal capabilities, and foster a culture of sustainability.

- Provide guidance on stakeholder engagement, helping clients strengthen relationships with investors, regulators, and other key parties.

- Support clients in communicating their ESG performance, strategies, and achievements to key stakeholders.

5. Sustainability Initiatives and Performance Improvement:

- Guide clients in the design and implementation of sustainability initiatives, including energy efficiency, waste reduction, and social impact programs.

- Analyze ESG data and performance metrics to offer actionable insights and drive continuous improvement in sustainability practices.

- Advise clients on improving their supply chain sustainability, diversity and inclusion programs, and employee well-being initiatives.

6. Thought Leadership and Business Development:

- Stay at the forefront of ESG trends, innovations, and regulatory developments to provide clients with leading-edge insights.

- Participate in business development activities, including proposal writing, client presentations, and networking to expand the firm's ESG consulting services.

- Collaborate with other consultants and teams to drive cross-functional ESG solutions for clients.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's degree in environmental science, Sustainability, Business, or a related field. A master's degree or professional certifications (e.g., GRI, SASB, LEED) is highly preferred.

Experience: Minimum of 7-10 years of professional experience in ESG consulting, sustainability strategy, or corporate social responsibility, with a focus on advising clients in various sectors.

Skills & Knowledge:

- Strong knowledge of ESG frameworks, reporting standards, and regulations (e.g., BRSR TCFD, SASB, GRI, UN SDGs).

- Proven experience in ESG risk management, strategy development, and implementation.

- Ability to analyze and interpret complex ESG data and translate it into actionable insights for clients.

- Strong communication skills with the ability to present complex ESG concepts to clients in a clear, concise manner.

- Experience with ESG reporting software and data management tools is advantageous.

- Strong project management skills, with the ability to lead multiple client engagements simultaneously.
