Noc Engineer

Role & responsibilities

• Monitor and manage incoming events from IT infrastructure, including networks, systems, servers, applications, and security devices.
• Analyze events to determine their severity, impact, and potential risk, ensuring proper categorization and prioritization.
• Investigate and troubleshoot event-related issues, escalating incidents to the appropriate teams when necessary.
• Collaborate with various internal teams (e.g., IT operations, network, security) to investigate and resolve incidents.
• Ensure adherence to event management processes and procedures, including the use of monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Nagios, Splunk).
• Coordinate with other IT teams to ensure proper response to high-priority or critical events and incidents.
• Review and close event tickets, ensuring all relevant information is captured and the event is resolved to completion.
• Provide proactive analysis and reporting on event trends, identifying patterns or recurring issues that may need attention.
• Participate in post-event analysis and root cause investigations, assisting in the creation of action plans to prevent similar incidents.
• Ensure timely communication to stakeholders regarding event statuses, impact, and resolution.

Preferred Skills:

• ITIL Foundation certification or experience with ITIL-based frameworks.
• Understanding of incident response and root cause analysis processes.
