Data Engineer - SQL Server (8-10 yrs)

Key Responsibilities :

- Analyze and resolve performance issues in the current SQL Server databases.

- Implement governance and data quality checks.

- Create a reporting database ensuring the new database supports all reporting and analytics requirements.

- Utilize SSIS, SSRS, and related tools for data integration and reporting tasks.

- Manage and monitor MS-SQL Server jobs and scheduling tools.

- Implement a scalable, cloud-native data warehousing solution using AWS services like AWS Glue, Redshift, Lake Formation, and S3.

- Develop ETL/ELT pipelines and integrate data sources for analytics and reporting.

- Establish and enforce robust data governance policies.

- Ensure data security and compliance with relevant regulations.

- Monitor and optimize the performance of both on-premises and cloud-based data systems.

- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver effective solutions.

- Act as a technical expert and mentor for junior team members.

Qualifications :

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.

- 8+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role.

- Strong hands-on experience with SQL Server, including database design, administration, and performance tuning.

- Proven experience with data warehousing and business intelligence concepts.

- Experience with ETL/ELT tools and processes (e.g, SSIS, AWS Glue, Apache Airflow).

- Experience with cloud platforms, preferably AWS (e.g, Redshift, S3, EMR).

- Experience with data modeling and data quality best practices.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Skills :

- Experience with Python, Scala, or other scripting languages.

- Experience with data visualization tools (e.g, Tableau, Power BI).

- Experience with NoSQL databases (e.g, MongoDB, Cassandra).

- Knowledge of data security and compliance regulations (e.g, GDPR, CCPA).

- Experience with Agile development methodologies
