GeM Business Development Executive – IT Industry

Job Description:
We are looking for a dynamic and result-oriented GeM (Government e-Marketplace) Business Development Executive to join our team and drive the growth of our IT solutions on the GeM platform. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of the GeM portal, government procurement processes, and the IT industry. You will play a key role in expanding our presence in government procurement and ensuring that our IT products and services meet the needs of government agencies.
Key Responsibilities:

  1. GeM Portal Management:
    • Register and manage the company’s profile on the GeM portal.
    • Ensure that product listings are accurate, up-to-date, and aligned with government procurement standards.
    • Handle the submission of bids, quotes, and tenders through the GeM platform.

  1. Business Development:
    • Identify and target potential government clients, departments, and agencies for IT products and services.
    • Build and nurture relationships with government officials, procurement officers, and other stakeholders.
    • Collaborate with the sales and marketing teams to align business strategies and promote IT offerings on GeM.

  1. Tender and Bid Management:
    • Monitor GeM tenders and proactively engage with relevant opportunities.
    • Prepare and submit competitive bids in compliance with government requirements.
    • Respond to queries from government departments and clients regarding product specifications and pricing.

  1. Market Research & Analysis:
    • Conduct market research to identify new opportunities for business expansion within the GeM ecosystem.
    • Track industry trends, competitor activities, and government regulations related to procurement.

  1. Client Support & Relationship Management:
    • Provide post-sale support, ensuring timely delivery of services and products.
    • Ensure customer satisfaction by maintaining strong relationships and addressing any concerns or queries from government clients.

  1. Compliance & Documentation:
    • Ensure all products listed comply with GeM regulations and relevant government standards.
    • Maintain documentation for bids, contracts, and any other regulatory paperwork.



Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, IT, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in business development and sales, preferably in the IT sector.
  • Familiarity with GeM (Government e-Marketplace) and its processes.
  • Strong understanding of government procurement processes and public sector sales.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong networking and relationship-building abilities.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with digital products, software solutions, and IT services.
  • Understanding of public sector IT procurement.
  • Knowledge of the public sector purchasing regulations and documentation processes.
