Job Description
We are seeking a talented and passionate Commis 1 - Continental to join our culinary team in Mysuru, India. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will assist in the preparation and presentation of high-quality Continental cuisine, ensuring an exceptional dining experience for our guests.
Assist in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of Continental dishes according to established recipes and standards
Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to food safety and hygiene regulations
Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure efficient operations and timely food service
Support senior chefs in menu planning and implementation of new dishes
Properly store and rotate food items to minimize waste and maintain quality
Operate and maintain kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
Participate in regular inventory checks and stock management
Contribute to a positive team atmosphere and maintain professional relationships with all staff members
Continuously improve culinary skills and stay updated on industry trends
Assist in training and mentoring junior kitchen staff as needed
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Culinary Arts or equivalent culinary education
Minimum of 1 year experience in a similar role, preferably in a high-volume restaurant or hotel kitchen
Strong knowledge of Continental cuisine and culinary techniques
Food safety and hygiene certifications (e.g., HACCP)
Excellent knife skills and proficiency in various cooking methods
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift heavy items when necessary
Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays
Passion for cooking and willingness to learn and grow in the culinary field
