Job Description
We are seeking a talented and passionate Chef De Partie specializing in Indian Cuisine to join our culinary team in Mysuru, India. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for preparing authentic Indian dishes, maintaining high-quality standards, and contributing to the overall success of our culinary operations.
Prepare and cook a variety of Indian dishes, ensuring consistency in taste, quality, and presentation
Manage a specific section of the kitchen, overseeing junior staff and coordinating with other sections
Ensure all food items are prepared according to recipes and portion standards
Maintain a clean and organized workstation, adhering to food safety and hygiene regulations
Assist in menu planning and development of new dishes
Monitor and control food costs by minimizing waste and optimizing ingredient usage
Participate in food tasting panels and quality control checks
Train and mentor junior kitchen staff in Indian cooking techniques and recipes
Collaborate with the Head Chef and other kitchen team members to ensure smooth operations
Assist in inventory management and placing orders for ingredients and supplies
Ensure timely preparation and service of dishes during peak hours
Contribute to the continuous improvement of kitchen processes and procedures
Qualifications
Culinary degree or diploma with a focus on Indian cuisine
2-3 years of experience as a Chef De Partie or in a similar role, specializing in Indian cuisine
In-depth knowledge of Indian cooking techniques, spices, and regional variations
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Strong verbal and written communication abilities
Demonstrated ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
Proficiency in using kitchen equipment and tools specific to Indian cooking
Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new recipes and cooking procedures
Thorough understanding of food safety and hygiene standards
Strong attention to detail in food preparation and presentation
Team player with the ability to collaborate effectively with kitchen staff and other departments
Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays
Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift heavy items when necessary
