Job Description
We are seeking a talented and passionate Commis 1 specializing in South Indian cuisine to join our culinary team in Mysuru, India. As a Commis 1, you will play a crucial role in supporting our kitchen operations and delivering exceptional South Indian dishes to our guests.
Stock the assigned kitchen station with necessary ingredients and raw materials daily
Operate and maintain kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
Master basic cooking techniques, including ingredient preparation and daily mis-en-place for your assigned station
Prepare South Indian dishes according to standard recipes, ensuring portion control and minimizing waste
Adhere to food safety and hygiene standards (HACCP) in all kitchen activities
Clean and maintain all equipment within the food production area
Report any hazards, unsafe working conditions, or equipment in need of repair to your immediate supervisor
Participate in fire and life safety drills and maintain knowledge of emergency procedures
Attend all required briefings, meetings, and training sessions
Maintain a high standard of personal appearance and hygiene at all times
Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations and timely food delivery
Assist in other reasonable duties as assigned by management
Qualifications
Passion for South Indian cuisine and culinary arts
Basic knowledge of South Indian cooking techniques and ingredients
Familiarity with kitchen equipment and safety procedures
Understanding of food safety and hygiene standards (HACCP)
Ability to follow recipes and maintain consistent food quality
Strong attention to detail in food preparation and presentation
Excellent teamwork and communication skills
Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and work in a fast-paced environment
Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays
Goal-oriented mindset with a focus on efficiency and organization
