Senior Quantity Surveyor

Roles & Responsibilities :

• Understanding the client requirements & quantities take off.
• Preparing BOQ (bill of quantities) by studying specification sheets
• Identifying gaps between BOQ and drawings, specifications & conditions of the contract and taking it for a logical closure.
• Monitor & control costs throughout the project, identifying cost saving opportunities
• Manage the valuation of work done & handle claims & variations
• Preparing interim & final valuations, variations & claims
• Collaborate with project stakeholders to optimise project outcomes & achieve value for money.

Preferred candidate profile :

• Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering / Construction Management or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in quantity surveying or cost consulting, preferably in the railway projects
• Proficiency in cost estimation & cost management techniques
• Negotiating with suppliers & subcontractors to obtain the best prices & terms.
• Managing project budgets, including forecasting & monitoring costs.
• Familiarity with contract administration and legal aspects of construction projects
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritise tasks effectively
• Experience in civil construction of railway projects for preparation of cost estimates, bill of quantities and tender documents.
