Key skills for the job
Job purpose: Responsible for accounting, finance activities and financial tasks, including invoicing, budget drafting, issuing purchase orders, implementing and managing procurement processes.
Duties and responsibilities:
Accounts Receivable (AR):
- Oversee the end-to-end AR process, ensuring timely and accurate invoicing.
- Monitor customer accounts and ensure timely collections to maintain cash flow.
- Reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies with customers.
- Prepare AR aging reports and provide insights to the management.
- Collaborate with sales teams to address credit limit issues and manage credit approvals.
- Implement and monitor internal controls to minimize bad debts and credit risks
Accounts Payable (AP):
- Manage end-to-end AP operations, including vendor invoice processing and payments.
- Review vendor reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
- Ensure timely processing of vendor payments, considering discounts and payment terms.
- Maintain proper documentation and ensure compliance with statutory requirements.
- Monitor and control expenses in alignment with organizational policies.
- Assist in vendor onboarding and regular performance evaluation.
- Team Leadership and Process Improvement.
- Lead and mentor a team of junior/senior accountants to ensure smooth operations.
- Identify opportunities for process automation and efficiency improvements in AR and AP workflows.
- Ensure adherence to accounting standards and internal policies.
- Assist in financial/ internal audits, providing necessary reports and documentation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams for budgeting and forecasting related to AR and AP.
Key Skills Required:
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and compliances.
- Proficiency in ERP systems and MS Office (especially Excel).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with clients, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
- Leadership ability to manage and develop a team.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and timeliness.
Qualifications & Education: Graduation or Masters in Finance stream with minimum 50%.
Experience: 5-7 years in AR & AP.
Skills: Excellent communication skills.
Characteristics: Go getter and leadership abilities.
