Job Description
- Lead a team of technology control testing professionals, overseeing and driving completion of control testing assignments to support operational, conduct and regulatory risk and control management.
- Effectively delegating work across the team to ensure the work is completed in a timely manner and to the required technical standards.
- Ensure quality is embedded into the control testing deliverables through effective oversight of the control testing team whilst ensuring compliance with the CCO Control Testing Methodology.
- Participate in the professional development of the testing team through effective coaching and knowledge sharing.
- Apply judgment in relation to the identification and publication of control testing findings including key risks and issues.
- Partner with IT management to discuss, agree and assess control issues identified through testing activities.
- Support the preparation of testing reports to inform key stakeholders of the outcome of testing.
- Provide expertise and guidance on control testing across CCO to build rapport across the business.
- Establish effective working relationship with the Leadership team and Technology CCO teams.
- Build trusted advisor relationships with internal stakeholders through maintaining a network of Control Owners and Control Operators for the key Technology controls and partnering with 2nd and 3rd Lines of Defence (LOD) including Operational Risk, ISR, Internal Audit etc. on coverage of Technology controls testing.
- Understand, follow and demonstrate compliance with all relevant internal and external rules, regulations and procedures that apply, specifically to Internal Controls and any supporting policies and procedures.
- Graduate / post-graduate in any discipline with strong academic background.
- Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in Control Assurance, SOX Controls testing, Internal Audit, Internal Controls and Risk assessment. Experience in Financial Service industry or an external audit firm is desirable.
- Significant knowledge and competence of IT and Data Analytics skills (ideally 7+ years in the industry).
- Experience in the Finance Industry is an advantage.
- Knowledge of controls around technology management including new technology (Robotics, API, Cloud, Data Loss Prevention, Cyber).
- Professional certification, such as CIA, CISA, CISSP, CISM or equivalent.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work without close supervision and to take decisions autonomously, subject to verification.
- Experience within complex organizations and virtual teams, as well as outsourced services.
- Ability to be customer focused, collaborative, flexible, persistent and results oriented.
- Cope with varying workloads, pressures, and priorities.
- Excellent relationship management skills.
- Self-starter and effective collaborator.
- Strong team player.
