Role Overview :
- The Manager Costing & Process Planning will coordinate and lead estimating efforts to ensure optimal costing and process selection at Custiv.
- Specializing in casting, forging, & machining this role involves estimating manufacturing costs, planning processes, and meeting customer and manufacturing requirements.
- Overall, the job is to choose the most economical and right manufacturing process that meets the product requirements.
Key Responsibilities :
- Project scope of work: Understanding a manufacturing project's scope involves analyzing processes from raw material procurement to delivery, including Incoterms.
- Manufacturing Process Plan : Develop detailed manufacturing plans by selecting suitable processes and equipment for production.
- Cost Estimation : Calculate and analyse costs for materials, labour, and processes, including preand post-manufacturing expenses, knowledge on calculating MHR (Machine Hour Rate), labour rates, and cycle times for different commodities.
- Maintain Costing Database : Enter and manage cost data in the pricing database, ensuring accuracy and up-to-date information, experience in costing for various commodities specific to the manufacturing regions of India.
- Due Diligence and Negotiation: Evaluate manufacturers for quality and compliance and negotiate optimal pricing with suppliers.
Skills and Expertise Required:
- Manufacturing Processes: Understanding different manufacturing techniques such as forging, casting, machining, heat treatment, post processing etc.
- Costing: Experience in zero based costing, should costing, activity-based costing etc.
- Engineering Drawings: Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and 3D models.
- Market understanding: Understanding market trends and material costs.
- Analytical Skills: Ability to analyse complex data sets and break down components into cost elements.
- Negotiation Skills: Ability to negotiate with suppliers and vendors to secure optimal pricing.
Communication :
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to convey technical information and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Experience with cost estimation tools and databases for compiling and analyzing pricing data.
Qualifications and Skills:
Education : Master's in Finance.
Experience : 7+ years of Proven experience in the manufacturing field.
Skillset :
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Strong multi-tasking abilities.
- Proficiency in planning, management, and leadership.
- Ability to define and implement effective processes and strategies.
- Proficiency in office software.
- Language proficiency in Hindi and English (preferred)
