Salesforce DevOps Engineer (6-8 yrs)

Job Description :

We are seeking an experienced Salesforce DevOps Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role requires a candidate with 7+ years of total IT experience, with a strong emphasis on Salesforce (SFDC) and DevOps methodologies. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in version control, continuous integration, and deployment pipelines, particularly within the Salesforce ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities :

Salesforce Development & Deployment :

- Design, develop, and deploy Salesforce applications using Salesforce DX, managed and unmanaged packages, and metadata components.

- Ensure smooth and conflict-free deployment by applying best practices and understanding Salesforce deployment mechanisms.

Version Control & Pipeline Management :

- Utilize GIT and version control tools for source code management, ensuring proper versioning and configuration management.

- Develop, maintain, and optimize CI/CD pipelines in Jenkins or GitLab to automate and streamline deployments for Salesforce applications.

Managed Package Installation & Upgrades :

- Manage and troubleshoot Salesforce managed package installations and upgrades, ensuring a seamless experience across environments.

Salesforce Admin Features & Sandbox Management :

- Demonstrate expertise in Salesforce Admin features, understanding different Sandbox types and configuring them effectively for deployments.

Troubleshooting & Issue Resolution :

- Identify, analyze, and resolve deployment issues, ensuring minimal disruptions and downtime during Salesforce upgrades and releases.

- Manage Omnistudio components deployments, if applicable.

Collaboration & Reporting :

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful delivery of Salesforce solutions.

- Manage and track deliverables, using tools like JIRA, to ensure on-time and quality delivery.

Automation & Efficiency :

- Build and optimize scripts (using Bash or similar tools) to automate deployment processes.

Consulting & Independent Thinking :

- Provide consulting services, including the creation and management of engagement deliverables, contributing to strategic initiatives and projects.

- Think independently, applying creative problem-solving to resolve challenges within the Salesforce development lifecycle.

Skills and Qualifications :

Required Skills :

- 7+ years of overall IT experience.

- 3+ years of hands-on experience with Salesforce (SFDC) development and deployment.

- Extensive experience with GIT and version control practices.

- Proficiency in developing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins or GitLab.

- Experience working with SFDX-CLI, managed and unmanaged packages, and metadata components in Salesforce.

- Strong knowledge of Salesforce Admin features, various Sandbox types, and Salesforce OOB features.

- Experience with Salesforce Managed Package installation and upgrades.

Additional Desired Skills :

- Familiarity with Azure DevOps and other DevOps tools.

- Experience using JIRA for project management and tracking.

- Understanding of Omnistudio Components deployment (preferred).

- Solid understanding of common deployment challenges and solutions in Salesforce environments.

- Ability to work independently and think creatively to tackle complex problems.

Technical Skills :

- Proficiency in Bash scripting and other automation tools.

- Understanding of Salesforce Platform and cloud technologies.

- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and best practices in DevOps.
