Assistant Warehouse Manager

Department: Warehouse Operations

Reporting To: Warehouse Manager / Operations Head

Job Responsibilities:

1. Warehouse Operations Management:

• Oversee daily inbound and outbound operations, ensuring smooth workflow and timely order processing.
• Supervise the inward and outward teams, ensuring all goods are received, stored, and dispatched correctly.
• Implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) to improve efficiency and minimize errors.
• Monitor inventory accuracy, conduct cycle counts, and resolve stock discrepancies.
• Ensure that all orders (B2B & B2C) are processed correctly and shipped on time.
• Work closely with logistics partners to ensure smooth transportation and delivery.

2. Inventory Control & Management:

• Coordinate with the inventory team to track stock levels and prevent shortages or overstocking.
• Ensure FIFO (First In First Out) and LIFO (Last In First Out) inventory methods are followed.
• Address any stock mismatches, damaged goods, or missing items through proper documentation.
• Ensure all SKU movements are recorded in Unicommerce or WMS for real-time tracking.

3. Team Supervision & Coordination:

• Lead and train the warehouse team, ensuring adherence to company policies and safety protocols.
• Assign daily tasks to warehouse staff and monitor performance.
• Collaborate with other departments (Accounts, Sales, QC, and IT) for smooth warehouse operations.
• Ensure proper manpower allocation for peak hours and seasonal demand.

4. Process Improvement & Reporting:

• Analyze warehouse performance metrics (order processing time, dispatch accuracy, inventory turnover, etc.).
• Identify process bottlenecks and suggest improvements to enhance efficiency.
• Prepare weekly and monthly reports on warehouse activities and share them with management.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain warehouse cleanliness and organization.

Skills Required:

• Strong knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) like Unicommerce.
• Experience in inventory management and stock control.
• Ability to lead and manage teams effectively.
• Proficiency in Excel, MIS reporting, and data analysis.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
