About the role:

Our client is seeking a highly motivated Equity Research Associate to join its Oil and Gas research team in India. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the evolving landscape of the energy industry, as Oil and Gas companies navigate the global energy transition and explore new avenues. Core tasks include conducting comprehensive industry and company analyses, maintaining sector databases and financial models, and delivering insightful research reports and presentations to clients. The Associate will also play a key role in fostering relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including corporate clients and industry partners.

We are seeking an individual who possesses a strong passion for the Oil and Gas sector and a deep understanding of its diverse business models. The ideal candidate will be a self-directed individual with exceptional financial acumen, superior written and verbal communication skills, and a proven ability to analyze complex global trends and translate them into actionable insights for companies.

The ideal candidate would be currently working in an equity research setting, preferably with a focus on Indian Oil and Gas Companies.

Skills Recquired:

- A comprehensive understanding of the Oil and Gas industry, including diverse business models and the global energy transition's implications.

- A willingness to learn and contribute to research across various sectors as needed.

- Expertise in building and managing Excel databases, extracting and interpreting data from Bloomberg and industry sources.

- Ability to conduct both secondary and primary research, including channel checks, to gather information about market size and key players.

- Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with meticulous attention to detail

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for clear and concise information dissemination.

- Ability to multitask and thrive in a dynamic, high-pressure environment.

- Proven ability to think critically, conduct in-depth analyses, and offer unique perspectives on companies within the sector.

- Strong sectoral knowledge and the ability to connect global trends with the Indian Oil and Gas industry.

- Familiarity with emerging technology trends and their impact on the sector.

- Excellent presentation and communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas to institutional clients and cultivate strong relationships.

- Proficiency in financial modeling and valuation techniques.

- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities effectively, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Qualification:

- CA + CFA (level 2+) or an MBA + CFA (level 2+)

- Experience up to 5 years relevant experience.

Eligibility:

- Strong academic background, with a focus on accounting, finance or economics preferred - CA/CFA and/or MBA from a leading institute

- Relevant experience of working in equity research (either front or back end) upto 5 years

- Strong Financial Modelling skills, Valuations, Research on Companies/Sectors
