Project Engineer - (Grid Connectivity & Battery Projects (Solar)

Key Responsibilities:

• Project Management: Lead and manage large-scale energy projects, including grid connectivity and battery storage systems, from inception through to completion. Oversee project lifecycle, planning, execution, and handover.
• Grid Integration: Design, plan, and oversee the integration of battery storage solutions with electrical grids, ensuring compliance with grid codes and regulations.
• Battery Storage Systems: Apply in-depth knowledge of battery technologies (e.g., lithium-ion, solid-state batteries) for energy storage solutions and their integration with power grids, ensuring optimal performance and safety standards.
• Technical Leadership: Provide expert guidance on technical issues related to electrical power systems, grid stability, renewable energy integration, and energy storage solutions.
• Collaboration with Stakeholders: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineers, suppliers, clients, regulatory bodies, and contractors, to ensure alignment and smooth execution of projects.
• Risk Management: Identify potential risks associated with grid connectivity and battery projects and implement mitigation strategies.
• Compliance & Standards: Ensure all projects adhere to local, national, and international standards, codes, and regulatory requirements. Stay updated on emerging trends in energy policy and technology.
• Budget and Resource Management: Monitor project costs, timelines, and resource allocation to ensure projects are completed within scope and budget.
• Troubleshooting & Optimization: Conduct troubleshooting of system integration issues and optimize the design and operation of energy storage systems for maximum performance.
• Reporting & Documentation: Provide detailed reports on project progress, technical specifications, and any issues that arise, keeping all stakeholders informed.
• Mentorship: Mentor and train junior engineers and other project team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Key Skills & Qualifications:

• Education: A Bachelors or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field.
• Experience: 15+ years of experience in managing and engineering projects focused on grid connectivity, electrical power systems, and energy storage solutions.
• Expertise in Grid Connectivity: Strong understanding of electrical grid architecture, interconnection procedures, grid stability, and transmission and distribution systems.
• Battery Storage Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of battery energy storage technologies (e.g., lithium-ion, flow batteries), their design, operation, and integration with the grid.
• Project Management: Proven experience in leading multi-disciplinary teams, managing project timelines, budgets, and deliverables.
• Technical Proficiency: Proficient in software tools for project planning and modeling, such as AutoCAD, ETAP, MATLAB, or similar tools for power systems analysis.
• Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with grid codes, industry regulations, and energy policies governing renewable energy and energy storage systems.
• Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to resolve technical challenges in large-scale projects.
• Leadership: Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with renewable energy integration (solar, wind) and hybrid power systems.
• Professional certification in Project Management (e.g., PMP) or relevant industry certifications.
• Knowledge of emerging trends in energy storage, grid modernization, and smart grid technologies.
• Familiarity with international grid interconnection standards and practices.

Work Environment:

• Physical Requirements: Occasional travel to project sites for inspections, meetings, and site coordination.
