Job Purpose

Timely procurement of raw material, ensure availability of material to the operations team and develop relationships with the suppliers, to ensure procurement of material at the most optimum cost

Role & responsibilities

• Material Sourcing Strategy: Develop and implement sourcing strategies for raw materials and packaging materials. Perform spent analysis, conduct market & competition analysis, understand business needs, and formulate sourcing strategy for that category.
• Ensuring Raw Material and Packing Material availability across Company plants by working closely with suppliers, planner, and factories.
• Supplier Evaluation and Selection: Evaluate potential suppliers based on their track records, product quality and price.
• Negotiation and Contract Management: Negotiate best terms and conditions with suppliers through cost sheet lead RFQ events. Draft, review, and manage contracts to ensure they align with company policies.
• Inventory Planning and Management: Collaborate with planning and production teams to forecast raw material requirements accurately. Ensure optimal inventory levels to meet production schedules while minimizing holding costs and wastage.
• Quality Assurance: Work closely with the quality control team to ensure that materials meet the required quality and safety standards.
• Cost Optimization: Continuously monitor market trends and pricing fluctuations to identify cost-saving opportunities. Implement cost reduction strategies while maintaining the highest level of product quality.
• Risk Management: Anticipate and mitigate potential supply chain risks, such as shortages, transportation disruptions, or supplier issues. Develop contingency plans to maintain a stable supply of raw materials.
• Compliance and Ethics: Ensure all procurement activities comply with relevant laws, regulations, and ethical standards. Promote sustainable and responsible sourcing practices within the supply chain.
• Data Analysis and Reporting: Utilize procurement software and tools to gather and analyse data related to procurement activities, supplier performance, and cost metrics. Prepare regular reports for management to aid in decision-making.
• Supplier Relationship Management: Cultivate strong and productive relationships with suppliers to foster long-term partnerships. Conduct regular supplier performance reviews and address any issues or concerns promptly.

• Effective & proactive liaison with other departments as necessary to forecast, plan to meet purchase and service deadline.

• Maintain relationships with the vendors and contractors to ensure good, reliable sources of supply and information about the market best practices
• Ensure timely payouts to the vendors
• Reduce supplier radius
• Provide supplier ratings based on departmental feedback
• Regular follow up with vendors for timely supply

• Ensure all activities under his/her control and supervision are compliant with all the laws of land and statutory requirement.
• Conduct all operation of function, ensuring social responsibility and accountabilities by following the company guideline of the same.
• Be responsible for ethical operation under his control.
• Be responsible for prevention, detection and reporting of bribery and other forms of corruption including breach of code of conduct and other company regulation.
• Avoid all such activity that could lead to or imply breach of code of conduct, anti-

bribery and anti-corruption etc.

Preferred candidate profile

• Candidate should have knowledge of Procurement and Service Contracts management, applicable laws and regulations. He should posses knowledge of engineering goods and services. He must have market awareness necessary to excel in procurement of engineering goods and engineering services.
• Generate cost saving through implementation of new ideas and new strategies like alternate vendor development, cost cutting measures etc.
• Prepare and process service agreements and purchase orders for supplies and services.
• Analyze market and delivery systems in order to assess present and future material availability.
• Develop and implement purchasing and contract management instructions, policies, and procedures.
