Director - eCommerce

GroupM is the world's largest media investment company and are a part of WPP. In fact, we are responsible for one in every three ads you see globally. We are currently looking for a Director - Ecommerce to join us. In this role, you will be responsible for Ecom business in GroupM Nexus.

Requiring a high degree of collaboration and agility you will work by guiding the agencies in the Indian market on the capability roll out, to build out a seamless business offering with local specialist teams.

The e-Commerce services will cover the broad pillars of business & marketing strategy, performance media, creative and in-store content development, data analytics and reporting.

Your role will be focused on helping the GroupM agencies fine-tune their commercial model for the various e-Commerce services as well as identifying internal cross-market synergies which we can tap into. You will be expected to work closely with the established e-Commerce platforms and other relevant partners who will be key to our success.

You are expected to have had hands-on experience in setting up and running or supervising similar e-Commerce capabilities previously. A reasonable understanding of the nuances of the Indian market and consumer behaviour would be ideal.

You will also be expected to leverage your knowledge of the e-Commerce industry to provide market intelligence, plan the evolution of the offering and identify key talent as our practice grows.

Reporting of the role

This role reports to the eCommerce Lead.

Responsibilities of the role :

- Lead a team of platform growth hackers, fostering continuous improvement and delivering excellence.

- Develop and oversee integrated media plans, combining commerce and brand strategies, while driving cross-channel testing and optimization for performance improvement.

- Manage search and display media activations across commerce platforms, ensuring best-in-class execution aligned with GroupM's guidelines.

- Build and maintain relationships with category stakeholders and commerce partners to maximize promotional opportunities, secure innovative solutions, and streamline activation processes.

- Support cross-agency teams (digital, creative, e-commerce) to deliver comprehensive solutions aligned with P&G objectives.

- Create and share e-commerce content, including POVs, frameworks, and playbooks, to drive excellence and industry leadership.

- Monitor industry trends and provide actionable insights to internal teams and P&G stakeholders

What you will need :

- 8+ years of overall experience with minimum 4 years in managing advertising across platforms such Amazon, Flipkart etc.

- Experience with automation tools such as Pacvue, Quartile will be preferred.

- Solid experience and knowledge of the e-Commerce platforms and landscape in India along with relevant eCommerce success concepts

- Ability to work seamlessly across areas of media and non-media strategy and solutions.

- Exceptional planning and organizational skills, ability to lead projects and work with cross-functional teams and/or third-party partners

- Ability to capitalize on trends and address consumer problems through new solutions

- Experience identifying and addressing gaps in processes and systems to elevate offering, improve consistency and provide best in class delivery

- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence decisions

- Structured & analytical thinking

- Go-getter and self-starter attitude

- Able to work independently in a complex and diverse environment.
