Project Planner (EPC experience)

Position Summary:

We are looking for a Planner to join our Project Delivery team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in project planning and scheduling, supporting the timely and successful completion of complex water treatment projects. As a Planner, you will play a key role in developing and tracking project schedules, coordinating resources, and monitoring project progress, while collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure projects are completed within scope, time, and budget.

Role & responsibilities

• Develop and maintain project schedules using Microsoft Project (MSP), ensuring integration with work breakdown structures (WBS).
• Assist senior project managers and planners in coordinating and monitoring project timelines, resources, and deliverables.
• Prepare and update project master schedules, ensuring alignment with project milestones and deadlines.
• Support the development of resource histograms (manpower and equipment) and track their utilization.
• Coordinate with multiple contractors, suppliers, and teams to update project schedules, addressing any delays or potential issues.
• Track, monitor, and report on project progress, including engineering documents, procurement status, fabrication, and construction timelines.
• Prepare and update weekly and monthly look-ahead schedules, identifying critical activities and potential risks.
• Conduct regular schedule reviews and progress meetings, providing status updates and recommending corrective actions as necessary.
• Develop and maintain project tracking reports, such as earned value management (EVM), S-curves, and other project control charts.
• Assist in preparing project forecasts and tracking plan versus actual progress to highlight variances.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the project schedule is aligned with overall project goals and client expectations.

Formal Education:

• Required: Bachelors degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or related fields)

Knowledge & Experience:

• Required: 3-5 years of experience in project planning, scheduling, and project controls, preferably in the construction, engineering, or water treatment industries.
• Preferred: Experience in wastewater treatment, water treatment, or related industrial projects.

Technical/Skill Requirements:

• Required: Proficiency in Microsoft Project (MSP) and knowledge of project scheduling techniques.
• Strong understanding of work breakdown structures (WBS) and project control tools.
• Ability to generate and manage project reports (e.g., S-curves, histograms, EVM).
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to handle project scheduling challenges.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with contractors, vendors, and internal teams.
• Preferred: Familiarity with other project management software or ERP systems like SAP.
