Our snacks range consists of more than 50 products, including Nuggets, Burger Patties, Salami, Sausages, Paneer Pops, Crispy fried Chicken, Kebabs, Sweet Corn, and Green Peas, among others.

Key responsibilities

This role is critical in assisting packaging department by leading category packaging development by engaging with key stakeholders, developing material specifications / SOPs in order to ensure smooth roll out of projects on time at right quality and at optimum cost.

• Lead packaging development of various product categories of GTFL
• Project management for NPD support
• Evaluation of packaging designs and materials
• Data collection and analysis
• New idea generation
• Implementation of new technologies
• Improvement in process, value engineering and competition mapping
• Recommend solutions and take decisions in alignment with key stakeholders
• Identification of improvement areas / projects both on quality and commercial aspects – ability to drive them.
• Devisal of specifications for packaging material and revision as and when needed.
• Liaise with vendors for implementation of alternate vendor norms. Visit sites and assess fitment ofvendors from scale and quality perspective
• Understanding and action planning for consumer complaints related to packaging material with necessary corrective actions.

Who are we looking for?

Education:

• PG Diploma in packaging from a reputed institute like Indian Institute of Packaging with science or engineering background.
• Additional qualification in plastic processing or tool making will be added advantage.

Experience:

• 4 - 5 years of experience in packaging development in a leading FMCG company
• Last 1-2 years’ experience in leading category packaging development independently is preferred.

Skills:

• Sound knowledge of different types of packaging materials like rigid and flexibles, its applications, various conversion processes and good understanding of packaging development process.
• Proactive, analytical, team player, risk taker with good communication skills.
• Exposure to problem solving tools.
• Exposure to mould management and plastic processing will be an added advantage.
• Ability to drive and execute projects single handedly.
