Inviting applications for the role of Assistant Vice President Senior Legal Counsel: Ethics Compliance
The role requires a high degree of independent judgment, fairness, and objectivity. As an Ethics leader, you ll work as part of a cross border team of problem solvers, helping to solve complex ethics compliance violations issues from strategy to execution while upholding company s code of ethics and business conduct. Professional skills and responsibilities for this level would include but are not limited to.
Responsibilities
Act as lead counsel for Genpact s internal whistleblower channels globally. This will include designing and carrying out investigations consistent with best practices and providing guidance and direction to Ombud people and other members of investigation teams in other regions in the investigation of claims.
Maintain investigation data consistent with audit expectations and prepare Board reporting materials related to Ethics and Compliance.
Develop and implement innovative communications and training strategies for ethics and policy compliance training and messaging.
Engage senior company management on communication of ethics and compliance topics.
Identify areas for improvement in processes and engage in continuous process improvement related to ethics and compliance policies and practices.
Contribute to and assist in drafting ethics and compliance related policies.
Assist other teams in carrying out other compliance assessments or audits, projects, and tasks as may be relevant from time to time.
Qualifications we seek in you
Minimum qualifications
Law degree - from a premium law school of India
Relevant experience in Ethics and Compliance area and other relevant laws in these areas.
General understanding and work done around compliances for an Indian Company servicing global clients.
Prior experience of working with leading corporate law firm, corporate clients (external or internal; preference for ITES industry).
Good knowledge of Indian laws and international legal concepts
Experience in service industry preferably ITES industry is desirable.
Should have a good grasp of commercial laws, regulations and legal concepts, policies and procedures related to IT and ITES.
Relevant years of legal experience combining corporate and private law settings including significant experience with matters pertaining to compliance and general corporate law matters.
Familiarity with best practices for investigating discrimination and harassment, conflict of interest, breach of confidentiality, and fraud investigations.
Established ability to influence actions without direct leadership responsibility for teams or processes with a proven ability to build relationships within a matrixed environment (both cross-functionally and cross-business)
Proven ability to lead and execute effectively at all levels of the organization.
Experience drafting policies and training on ethics and compliance topics
Experience designing and carrying out successful, large-scale communications/awareness campaigns with quantifiable impact
Strong project management skills and experience working across functions in a large organization.
Superior English communication skills - both written and verbal - with a demonstrated ability to communicate to all "customers" internally and externally to the business
Demonstrated track record of investigating and resolving complex compliance issues
Strong knowledge on a wide range of legal subjects, ability to build on this knowledge, spot issues and bring in specialists as needed
Demonstrated ability to meet tight deadlines; ability to establish priorities and plan, coordinate and execute on assignments, peer manage relations with colleagues of other disciplines
Strong analytical ability, creativity and sound judgment in resolving ethics and compliance issues
Preferred Skills:
Knowledge in IT/ ITES industry
