The GIC Supply Chain team manages end-to-end operations, encompassing planning, sourcing, manufacturing, logistics, and analytics. They strategically plan to meet market demands, optimize sourcing, ensure efficient production, and oversee the seamless movement of goods from production to delivery. The team employs advanced analytics throughout these processes, fostering adaptability and operational excellence. Purpose of the role
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Consultant to support the Strategy Manager Team for the Deliver Pillar (Transportation, Ocean Freight, CPU and Warehousing categories). The role involves providing category and buyer support, optimizing systems, troubleshooting issues, and managing relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, expertise in supply chain management, and the ability to deliver results in a fast-paced environment along with a keen eye for process optimization.
Key Accountabilities
1 Category and Buyer Support:
  • Assist in developing and executing category strategies for transportation, ocean freight, and warehousing.
  • Provide analytical support to buyers, including cost benchmarking, market trends, and supplier performance analysis, Contract renewals & approvals and Bid waivers.
  • Collaborate with buyers to identify savings opportunities
  • Provide support with Project management skills to drive category-specific projects.
  • Prepare reports and presentations for category reviews, supplier negotiations, and stakeholder meetings.
  • Timely actions on Ad-Hoc asks aligned with desk responsibilities.
  • Prepare Market intelligence report for deliver categories with data from various sources
  1. System Optimization & Troubleshooting:
  • Work on continuous improvement of sourcing and procurement systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot system-related issues, ensuring timely resolution to avoid disruptions in process.
  • Identify and implement automation opportunities which can improve, optimize or streamline processes.
  • Ensure maintenance of Contract database, Vendor database and category information in procurement systems.
  1. Internal & External Relationship Management:
  • Act as a liaison between internal stakeholders, including sourcing, operations, and finance teams, to ensure alignment on category goals.
  • Requires Cross-functional team projects management and execution
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with external suppliers to foster collaboration and ensure performance standards are met.
  • Manage communication and coordination with logistics providers, ensuring timely and cost-effective services.
  • Resolve conflicts and escalations effectively to maintain smooth operations.
Qualification & Skills
  • Education: Bachelor s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics, or related fields. Master s degree is a plus.
  • Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of experience in procurement, logistics, or supply chain management, preferably in transportation, ocean freight, or warehousing.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in ERP systems, advanced Excel, and data visualization tools. Familiarity with transportation and warehousing management systems is desirable.
  • Soft Skills:
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
  • Team player with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing challenges.

  • Timely resolution of system issues and troubleshooting cases.
  • Achievement of cost-saving targets and category goals.
  • Supplier performance and compliance with SLAs.
  • Successful completion of optimization projects and system enhancements.
