Position : Head ERM

Education : MBA/ PGDM

Location : Chennai

Purpose of the Role:

The Head of Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) is responsible for overseeing the organization's risk management strategy, ensuring the identification, assessment, and mitigation of risks that may impact the organization's ability to achieve its strategic objectives. This role leads the ERM team in developing and implementing an enterprise-wide risk management framework to protect the organization's assets, reputation, and long-term sustainability

Roles & Responsibilities:

1. Risk Management Framework Development:

- Lead the design and implementation of the ERM framework, ensuring it aligns with organizational goals and industry best practices.

- Establish policies and procedures for identifying, assessing, managing, and monitoring risks across all business areas.

- Ensure that risk management activities are integrated into decision-making processes across departments.

2. Risk Identification and Assessment:

- Oversee the identification of key enterprise-wide risks, both internal and external, that could impact the organization.

- Lead risk assessments, including strategic, operational, financial, compliance, and reputational risks.

- Implement a risk register and ensure that identified risks are categorized, quantified, and prioritized.

3. Risk Mitigation and Response:

- Work with senior leadership and business units to develop and implement risk mitigation strategies.

- Lead the development of contingency and crisis management plans for high-impact risks.

- Ensure that risk mitigation plans are regularly reviewed and updated.

4. Risk Reporting and Communication:

- Provide regular risk reports to senior management and the board of directors, highlighting key risks, risk trends, and the effectiveness of mitigation strategies.

- Ensure transparent communication of risks to relevant stakeholders across the organization.

- Support the creation of risk-related materials for regulatory bodies, auditors, and investors as needed.

5. Compliance and Regulatory Oversight:

- Ensure that risk management processes comply with applicable regulatory requirements and industry standards.

- Stay up to date with regulatory changes and emerging risks, advising the organization on necessary adjustments to its risk management practices.

6. Leadership and Team Management:

- Lead and manage the ERM team, providing guidance, training, and development opportunities.

- Foster a culture of risk awareness throughout the organization.

- Promote collaboration between risk management and other business units to ensure alignment and integration of risk-related activities.

7. Crisis Management and Business Continuity:

- Oversee business continuity and crisis management planning, ensuring that the organization is prepared for potential disruptive events.

- Lead incident response teams during crisis situations and ensure that effective recovery plans are in place.

8. Risk Culture and Awareness:

- Champion a proactive risk management culture across all levels of the organization.

- Develop and implement risk awareness programs, training sessions, and workshops for employees.

Skills Required:

- Strong knowledge of risk management frameworks (e.g., COSO, ISO 31000).

- In-depth understanding of risk assessment methodologies and tools.

- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

- Ability to think strategically and balance risk with business opportunities.

Certifications (Preferred):

- Certification in Risk Management (e.g., FRM, CRM, or equivalent).

- Professional qualifications in project management, audit, or governance (e.g., PMP, CISA, or CIA) are advantageous.

Personal Attributes:

- Strong leadership capabilities with the ability to influence senior executives and stakeholders.

- Excellent decision-making skills with the ability to manage complex and high-pressure situations.

- High level of integrity and ethical standards.

- Strategic thinker with the ability to adapt to changing environments and emerging risks.
