Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic General Manager (GM) of Sales to lead our sales operations for non-pharma process equipment. The successful candidate will possess a deep understanding of various industries such as API (Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients), Pigments, Ceramics, Polymers, Food Processing, Dye Stuff, and Colors, with a proven track record in driving sales and business growth in these sectors. The GM will be responsible for developing and executing sales strategies, building strong client relationships, and identifying new business opportunities in the target markets.
Key Responsibilities
  • Sales Strategy Development : Develop and execute the sales strategy for non-pharma process equipment, ensuring alignment with company goals and growth targets. Focus on increasing market share in industries such as API, Pigments, Ceramics, Polymers, Food Processing, Dye Stuff, and Colors.
  • Market Expansion : Identify new business opportunities, key market trends, and customer needs. Establish new customer accounts and nurture long-term relationships within key target industries.
  • Client Relationship Management : Build and maintain strong relationships with major clients, contractors, consultants, and industry stakeholders. Work to ensure customer satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration : Work closely with the Marketing, Engineering, and Product Development teams to ensure seamless integration of sales strategies with product offerings. Provide feedback from clients to enhance product features and services.
  • Sales Forecasting and Reporting : Prepare accurate sales forecasts, reports, and analyses. Provide insights on market trends, competition, and customer requirements to the executive leadership team.
  • Negotiation & Deal Closure : Lead contract negotiations and close high-value deals. Ensure profitability while maintaining client satisfaction and aligning with company objectives.
  • Budget Management : Ensure adherence to the annual sales budget and cost structure. Optimize resources to achieve sales goals within the allocated budget.
  • Industry Networking : Represent the company at industry conferences, exhibitions, and trade shows to increase brand visibility and develop new business leads.
Key Qualifications
  • Experience : Minimum 10+ years of experience in sales or business development in industries such as API, Pigments, Ceramics, Polymers, Food Processing, Dye Stuff, Colors, or other non-pharma process equipment sectors.
  • Industry Knowledge : Strong understanding of process equipment technologies used in the aforementioned industries. Knowledge of sales cycles, key customer pain points, and regulatory requirements within these markets.
  • Leadership : Proven experience in leading and managing high-performing sales teams. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a track record of building and nurturing relationships at senior levels.
  • Sales Acumen : Strong sales background with a focus on developing strategic initiatives to drive business growth, sales targets, and profitability.
  • Customer-Centric : Ability to understand customer needs, provide tailored solutions, and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction. Expertise in handling complex customer requirements and providing value-added solutions.
  • Educational Qualifications : A Bachelor s or master s degree in engineering, Business Administration, or related fields. Additional certifications in sales management or industry-specific areas will be a plus.
Desirable Skills and Attributes
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • High negotiation skills and ability to close high-value contracts.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Good knowledge of CRM systems and sales tools.
