Fujitsu - Director - Software Engineering (7-15 yrs)

Role Purpose :

A software engineering Director oversees the design and development of software applications for Composable Disaggregated Infrastructure (CDI) which help solve real-world challenges facing society and businesses across different industries.

The Software Engineering Director manages subordinate staffs in the day-to-day performance of their jobs and ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met for developing innovative advanced solutions and services to support business outcomes.

Responsibilities :

- Set overall team plans and goals in consultation with the Japanese team and take responsibility for their implementation.

- Leadership for driving his/her software development team.

- Design, enhance, utilize, quality control and maintain software applications.

- Enable and optimize OSS/ISV applications for CDI.

- Supervise training and development of software engineering staff.

- Assign work to software engineering personnel and evaluate plus manages their performance.

- Present practical input for strategic technology decisions.

- Support preparation of Technology Roadmap.

- Identify research problems and propose new approaches to possibly solve the problems.

- Working and communicating well with product directors/managers, business analysts, and OSS communities, and other software developers to collaborate, review and deliver high quality applications.

- Support to recruit engineering personnel, technical staff and project team formation.

- Collaborate with Hardware teams, industry stakeholders, OSS community.

- Contribute software and proposals to OSS communities and OSS events to push forward our strategies and improve our presence.

- Plan and manage team's budget.

Key Performance Indicators :

- Number of software applications enabled and optimized for CDI.

- Number of software applications with improved performance.

- Development of new software algorithms and technologies.

- Adherence to the software development schedule.

- Quality of product level.

- The number of presentations at conferences.

Experience :

- You will be able to demonstrate that you have :

- A degree in computer science or relevant field.

- Proven experience as a software engineering director or similar role, and familiarity with common stacks for software applications.

- Minimum 3 years' experience in production application/solution development as a director.

- Experience in software development in agile approach as a director.

- Excellent writing, verbal communication, and teamwork skills.

- Experience of development in OSS communities.

- Experience of OS and/or device driver development.

- An ability to propose adequate software architectures.

Preferred Experience :

- You will be able to demonstrate that you have :

- Knowledge and experience in Cloud service (Azure/AWS) features such as Functions, VM, Container, DevOps (CI/CD).

- Proficiency with fundamental back-end server-side languages such as Python, C/C++, etc.(especially Python).

- Great skills in evaluating performance and security of software applications and delivering solutions which are efficient and performant.

- Skills in hardware and firmware technologies.

- Skills in network and system management/monitoring technologies.
