Business Analytics Associate

Role & responsibilities

• Lead business requirements gathering, analysis, and transition of business needs for the reporting platform team from various stakeholders.
• Identify, analyze and help interpreting sample or existing data to meet business requirements and facilitate reporting development.
• Review current data used in the functional area.
• Research the functional areas operations for important analytics that are not currently leveraged and reports back to immediate leadership.
• Identify and suggest key performance indicators (KPIs) useful for functional area operations to immediate leadership.
• Produce concisely written and detailed business requirements in the form of user stories for development needs. Translate business requirements to functional and technical specifications for analytics development needs.
• Produces data, meta data and clearly articulated business rules and process flows for analytical audience.
• Define, scope and manage reporting deliveries.
• Communicate solutions across departments to both technical and non-technical staff.
• Create a detailed analysis of data opportunities and challenges for the business with specific data samples.
• Develop data quality metrics like data accuracy, completeness, consistency, and integrity and ensure that reporting needs are met.
• Conduct regularly scheduled reviews of newly proposed and existing projects to ensure quality and accuracy is delivered to end users
• Manage various data analytics work with stakeholders to understand business constraints that could potentially impact data science or machine learning models
• Maintain a backlog of enhancements, change requests and production releases and weekly status reports.
• Identify and implement productivity and quality control improvements.
• Apply industry-standard analysis and documentation techniques to assist in organizing project work.
• Follow Agile processes. Breaks down project goals into specific tasks involving business analysis, data analysis and data engineering. Divide and assign tasks for Business Problem Definition, Data Preparation, Exploratory Analysis, Model Development and Implementation, Model Validation and Testing, Insights Generation, Hypothesis Testing and Scenario Analysis, Presentation etc.
• Works with other team members to report data results and insights by using business intelligence tools like PBI and present the results of predictive models by converting it to usable business insights
• Follow industry best practices with business and technical analysis techniques, meta data identification, processes and procedures

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor's degree plus 3+ years of data analytics, business analysis, data & statistical modeling, computer science or other analytical discipline and process analysis experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; consulting experience is a plus
• Experience gathering information through interviews and documenting findings using flow-charting and process diagramming (Visio or Visio equivalent required)
• Any Wireframing tools experience (Figma, Sketch…)
• Experience in an Agile technology environment
• Experience working on Data Analytics and/or Reporting platforms.
• Understand data security issues associated analytics.
• Expert skills in Microsoft Excel are required, including the use of advanced analytical functions, pivot tables, PowerPivot, and the ability to work with connected databases.
• Advanced knowledge of PBI, Tableau or similar data visualization tools
• Ability to leverage APIs for consuming data assets
• Experience creating and executing SQL scripts, databases and proficient with BI tools
• Understands clearly how data, meta data and business rules play a role with reporting and analytics.
• Understands and can speak AI/ML language. Experience with building internal analytics modeling IP and accelerators and providing insights into what business users are looking for.
• Proven ability of using complex analytical, interpretive, and problem-solving techniques
• Experience gathering requirements, turning them into specifications, and delivering analytic products.
• Ability to produce Time and Cost estimates
• Demonstrate excellent, clear written and verbal communication skills including the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical persons.
