Overall Purpose of the job:
Provides HR support to managers and employees within area of responsibility ensuring adherence to HR policies and procedures. Area of responsibility may include multiple locations within a defined geographic area or for multiple product lines and/or business units irrespective of geographic location.
Key Activities and Accountabilities:
1. Provide guidance and advice to managers on the interpretation and application of HR policies and procedures and relevant employment legislation. Give advice to employees on terms and conditions of employment and HR policies and procedures. Act as a focal point for all HR issues and questions.
2. As necessary coordinate recruitment and selection in area of responsibility in line with the workforce plan and operational business needs. Provide assistance and guidance to managers on CV review, interviewing best practice and any legislative requirements.
3. Check employment documentation including agreements, contracts and handbooks prior to issue to ensure accuracy. Ensure required work permits, visas or other immigration documentation is in place. Work with International HR on expat or commuter transfers and documentation.
4. Provide guidance on the performance management process (EDP) and may assist in developing succession plans.
5. Advise managers on employee relations issues such as discipline, grievance, performance, redundancy, severance and capability
6. Ensure data contained in HR Information System is accurate and up-to-date; runs reports and provides information to managers to assist in decision-making.
7. Provide advice to managers to ensure salaries and benefits are in line with competitive practice and cost containment. Ensure reward is linked to business success and drives business performance. Participate in salary / benefit surveys. Coordinate the annual salary review and annual incentive scheme processes in conjunction with Group HR.
8. Meet with managers and employees as required to communicate key HR information. Where necessary, schedule visits to locations in the area of responsibility. Liaise with internal and external bodies as required to solicit and share information.
9. May provide information for the annual business planning process including resource planning/usage and annual salary review budgets.
10. May be required to supervise others including managing work load, mentoring and coaching
11. May be required to assist with HR support in emergency situations via participation in an on-call rota.
12. Actively adhere to the Code of Conduct and Anti-Bribery policies, procedures and processes to ensure the highest ethical standards are maintained and exposure to liability or risk to Expros reputation is minimised. If necessary, report possible violations or conflicts of interest.
13. Actively adhere to and ensure compliance with applicable Quality policies, procedures, processes and systems. Takes an active part in quality improvement processes. Identify and report any deficiencies to supervisor and obtain authorisation for any deviations from standard procedures.
14. Actively comply with all applicable Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) policies, procedures and processes. Promote HSE awareness; take responsibility and be accountable for own safety and safety of others. Demonstrate the personal application of HSE procedures in daily performance and always follow the 10 Safety House Rules.
15. Ensure objectives set under Employee Development Plan are met.
Job Knowledge and Qualifications:
Degree or Professional qualification (alternatively skills acquired through experience in HR roles)
7+ years previous experience within HR environment
Proficient in Microsoft office (Excel, Powerpoint and Word)
