Responsibilities as a Network, System, Linux, and VMware Administrator include:
General System and Network Administration:

• User Administration.
• Install and Configure Software and Hardware.
• Operating Systems management and updates.
• Secure Configuration of systems and networks.
• Patching Firmware and Software.
• Troubleshoot Issues and Outages.
• Configure Internal Systems.
• Fully support, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot networks and in-house servers.
• Install and integrate new server hardware and applications.
• Ensure that email and data storage networks work properly.
• Support and administer third-party applications.
• Ensure network security and connectivity.
• Creating group policies and maintaining Microsoft Active Directory.
• Resolve problems reported by end-users.
• Collaborate with external IT support personnel.
• Perform data backups and disaster recovery operations.
• Ensure employees’ workstations operate efficiently and remain connected to the central network.
• Maintain IT operations, including applications, email systems, hardware, software, and network security tools.
• Optimize and maintain network security protocols, such as SSL, SFTP, and VPNs, to ensure data protection.
• Troubleshoot issues with LAN, WAN, and other network segments.
• Perform critical data backups and secure data according to established procedures.
• Install firmware and security updates on servers, printers, and related networking devices.
• Install, configure, and maintain IPS/IDS, Firewalls, Anti-Virus, Anti-Spam, Anti-Malware, etc., for maximum internal network protection.
• Knowledge of cloud service providers such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Experience managing Linux-based hosting servers (e.g., AWS EC2 instances).
• Experience in Code Repositories Management (e.g., Git).
• Proficient in managing systems and services on cloud providers like AWS or GCP.
• Proficiency in troubleshooting OS and network-related issues, coupled with strong interpersonal communication and presentation skills.

Linux Administration:

• Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Linux-based systems.
• Manage Linux servers, including installation, security hardening, and performance optimization.
• Automate tasks using shell scripting and other tools (e.g., Bash, Python).
• Monitor Linux systems for performance, security, and operational efficiency.
• Manage and administer services such as DNS, DHCP, Apache/Nginx, FTP, and MySQL/PostgreSQL.
• Perform regular updates and upgrades for Linux OS and applications.
• Troubleshoot kernel, process, and system-level issues on Linux systems.

VMware Administration:

• Deploy, configure, and manage VMware environments (e.g., vSphere, ESXi).
• Create and manage virtual machines, templates, and snapshots.
• Ensure optimal performance of VMware infrastructure through resource allocation and optimization.
• Perform system updates and patching for VMware components.
• Monitor and troubleshoot issues in the VMware environment, ensuring minimal downtime.
• Implement and manage VMware disaster recovery solutions.
• Collaborate with storage and network teams to optimize VMware environments.
• Maintain VMware vCenter, including updates, configuration, and role-based access management.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Network, System, Linux, and VMware Administrator.
• Hands-on experience in networking, routing, and switching.
• Solid understanding of best practices for server infrastructure management, control, and monitoring.
• Experience with firewalls, VPNs, and remote troubleshooting and implementation.
• Proficient in server hardware setup and configuration.
• Familiarity with backup and recovery software and methodologies.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Certifications such as RHCE (Red Hat Certified Engineer) or VMware certifications (e.g., VCP).
• Knowledge of scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or PowerShell.
• Strong multitasking, organizational, and prioritization skills.
• Desirable training/certifications: Juniper, Cisco, CWNA, CCNA, CompTIA Network+.
