Manager - Learning and Development

Purpose of the role: The Manager for L&D will play a crucial role in identifying learning needs and fulfilling the gap by ensuring that effective training programs, skill development initiatives, and continuous learning opportunities are designed and implemented to enhance employee performance and business growth.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Learning Need Analysis: Assess the current skill levels and identify gaps through employee feedback, performance reviews, and business requirements.
• Program Development & Implementation: Strategically design and implement learning programs, workshops, and e-learning courses aligned with business goals so as to bridge identified gaps and improve workforce competency.
• Performance Monitoring: Monitor the performance of the employees during training as well as post training.
• Program Modification: Modify and Upgrade the programs whenever necessary.
• Performance Improvement: Implement coaching, mentoring, and feedback mechanisms to improve employee performance and supporting managers in identifying and developing high-potential employees.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Work with department heads to assess training needs and align learning initiatives with business objectives whilst partnering with external training vendors or consultants when needed.
• Culture Fostering: Promote a learning culture by providing career development plans and upskilling opportunities.
• Adaptability: Stay updated on the latest trends in learning technologies, training methods and regulatory requirements.
• Documentation: Carefully document and maintain detailed records of training programs, learning materials, and employee development plans.
• Compliance: Ensuring that employees are aware of and follow the company's policies, and that they complete any necessary training programs required by law or regulation for their roles.
• Budget management: Manage the L&D budget and ensure cost-effective training solutions.

Desired Candidate Profile

• Masters degree in HR, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or a related field.
• Certifications such as Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP), SHRM-CP, or other relevant professional certifications are preferred.
• At least 5 years of experience in the L&D domain.
• Strong knowledge of instructional design and training methodologies.
• Proficiency in using tools like PowerPoint, Excel, and other presentation or collaboration software.
• Ability to handle challenges in training delivery or learning engagement and find effective solutions.
• Familiarity with LMS platforms, e-learning tools, and digital learning solutions.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and facilitation skills.
