We are looking for a Senior Director, Product Design (UI/UX) to establish and lead a dynamic and high-performing design team, responsible for delivering exceptional user experiences across a broad range of digital products. In this leadership role, you will help shape experience strategy from conception to execution ensuring that user needs and business goals are seamlessly integrated into every product. You will work in close collaboration with the U.S. Product Design Team, Product, and Product Engineering teams to align on vision, strategy, and execution while fostering a unified and innovative approach to design across the regions. Your leadership will play a pivotal role in making sure that designs are not only conceptually strong but also seamlessly translated into high-quality in-market product experiences. Responsibilities Establish and lead a team of talented team of product designers and UX engineers, collaborating closely with the U.S. Product Design Team to align on design vision, strategy, and execution. Foster a high-performance culture of creativity and innovation, encouraging continuous learning and cross-team collaboration to elevate design standards and output. Mentor and guide team members, providing feedback and development opportunities to help them grow while ensuring that their work aligns with global design expectations and business goals. Align the product design strategy in partnership with the U.S. team, ensuring product goals, business priorities, and user needs are met. Stay on top of emerging design trends, tools, and methodologies, and collaborate with the U.S. team to introduce fresh ideas that push the boundaries of design and user experience. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with the U.S. design team to maintain a shared vision for user experience across all touchpoints, ensuring consistency in design quality and functionality. Establish and uphold design standards for interaction design, visual design, wireframing, and prototyping, ensuring seamless integration with engineering and QA teams. Partner with product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders in both India and the U.S. to define design requirements, technical constraints, and business goals, ensuring alignment and shared ownership of the product vision. Communicate design strategies, concepts, and solutions to senior leadership and cross-functional teams in both regions, ensuring transparency and alignment on the design direction. Advocate for the importance of user experience in product decision-making, ensuring that design priorities are effectively integrated into product development cycles. Collaborate with Engineering and QA teams to ensure that design specifications, including interactions and UI elements, are accurately translated into the final product, aligning technical capabilities with design goals. Serve as the design lead in cross-functional meetings with engineering and QA teams to resolve any design challenges, ensuring that user experience is maintained throughout the development and testing process. Champion user research (such as user testing, persona development, and journey mapping) to gather insights into user needs and behaviors, using these insights to drive design decisions. Cross-Regional Touchpoints: Bi-Weekly Syncs with U.S. Design Team: Regular design check-ins to align on strategy, review ongoing projects, and identify opportunities for collaboration and cross-team learning. Design Reviews: Facilitate joint design reviews with both the India and U.S. teams, ensuring consistency, quality, and alignment across the entire product design process. Workshops Ideation Sessions: Lead collaborative brainstorming and design workshops with the U.S. team to explore innovative solutions, address complex design challenges, and ensure a unified design direction. Feedback Loops: Establish continuous feedback loops between the India and U.S. teams, ensuring designs are iterated on based on cross-regional perspectives and platform consistency. Qualifications Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related technical field 15+ years of relevant industry experience Proven experience in leading global product design teams, with a strong focus on cross-regional collaboration, particularly between teams in different time zones. Expertise in product design strategy, user-centered design principles, and the ability to translate complex business goals into intuitive user experiences. Strong experience working with Engineering and Design QA teams, ensuring designs are implemented accurately and meet both functional and aesthetic standards. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to engage and align diverse teams across multiple disciplines.
