Job Title: Manager/ Sr. Manager Credit Controller

Location: Bhubaneswar

Reports To : Finance Manager / Senior Credit Controller

Education : Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; CA/MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred.

Job Overview:

We are seeking a diligent and highly organized Credit Controller to join our finance team. This role involves managing the companys credit and collections process, including overseeing billing, invoicing, client management, handling invoice issues, managing cash flow, and ensuring receivables are effectively monitored and collected. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring financial stability by maintaining a healthy cash flow and minimizing overdue debts.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Billing & Invoicing:
    • Generate and issue accurate invoices to clients in a timely manner.
    • Ensure that all billing procedures comply with company policies.
    • Preparation of E-Invoicing, Debit note and Credit Note
    • Preparation and confirmation of checklist before finalization of final invoice
    • Review and reconcile accounts to ensure that all charges are correctly billed.
    • Address client queries regarding invoicing discrepancies or issues.
  2. Client Management:
    • Develop and maintain positive relationships with clients to facilitate timely payments.
    • Regularly communicate with clients to remind them of payment due dates.
    • Negotiate payment terms or settlements where necessary.
    • Ensure client accounts are up to date and follow up on outstanding payments.
  3. Invoice Issue Resolution:
    • Investigate and resolve any disputes or discrepancies related to invoices.
    • Work closely with internal departments (Sales, Customer Service, etc.) to resolve issues promptly.
    • Ensure timely and accurate documentation for any adjustments to invoices.
  4. Cash Flow Management:
    • Monitor and manage the company’s cash flow by ensuring payments are collected on time.
    • Prepare regular reports on accounts receivable aging and cash flow status.
    • Assist in forecasting cash flow and contribute to financial planning.
  5. Receivables Management:
    • Oversee and manage the aged receivables portfolio, ensuring prompt collection of overdue accounts.
    • Record all receipts transactions and update account balances on daily basis.
    • Manage overdue accounts by coordinating with clients, sending reminders, and escalating matters as necessary.
    • Initiate debt recovery procedures when required.
  6. Reporting and Compliance:
    • Prepare weekly/monthly reports on accounts receivable, outstanding balances, and collections progress.
    • Ensure compliance with internal policies, financial regulations, and legal requirements.
    • Contribute to the monthly financial close process, ensuring accurate reporting of revenue and receivables.
    • Preparation of aging reports of the debtors.
    • Complete debtors’ reconciliations

Key Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience:
    • Proven experience as a Credit Controller or in a similar finance role.
    • Experience with billing, invoicing, and collections processes.
  • Skills:
    • Strong knowledge of cash flow management and receivables.
    • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to maintain professional client relationships.
    • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and problem-solving.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., SAP, Tally , QuickBooks, or similar).
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
    • proactive resolution of issues.
  • Personal Attributes:
    • Self-motivated and proactive, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
    • Ability to handle difficult situations with diplomacy and tact.
    • High level of integrity and professionalism.
