Key Responsibilities:
Human Resources (HR) Responsibilities:
Recruitment and Staffing:
- Lead the recruitment process, including sourcing, interviewing, and onboarding of employees.
- Collaborate with department heads to understand staffing needs and ensure the hiring of qualified personnel.
Employee Training and Development:
- Identify skill gaps and organize training and development programs.
- Promote continuous learning to enhance employee capabilities and performance.
Compensation and Benefits Management:
- Manage compensation structures, employee benefits, and payroll.
- Ensure compliance with legal requirements related to wages, benefits, and employee entitlements.
Performance Management:
- Oversee the performance appraisal process, setting clear performance metrics and feedback systems.
- Guide managers in setting performance objectives and resolving performance-related issues.
Employee Engagement and Well-being:
- Foster a positive work culture through employee engagement programs, recognition, and wellness initiatives.
- Address employee grievances and concerns promptly to maintain workplace morale.
Health, Safety, and Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety regulations.
- Conduct risk assessments and implement health and safety policies and procedures.
Industrial Relations (IR) Responsibilities:
Union Relations and Collective Bargaining:
- Serve as the primary point of contact between management and trade unions.
- Lead or participate in collective bargaining negotiations related to wages, benefits, and working conditions.
- Ensure agreements made during negotiations are implemented effectively.
Dispute Resolution:
- Mediate and resolve disputes between employees and management, striving for mutually beneficial solutions.
- Handle conflict resolution processes, including formal grievance handling and disciplinary procedures.
Labor Law Compliance:
- Stay up-to-date on labor laws and ensure the organization's compliance with national and regional employment regulations.
- Advise management on legal matters related to employee relations, termination, and labor disputes.
Employee Contracts and Workplace Policies:
- Develop, review, and implement workplace policies and procedures to ensure consistency and fairness.
- Oversee the drafting and management of employment contracts, ensuring they comply with legal standards.
Workplace Relations:
- Build and maintain a positive relationship between employees and management, ensuring a fair, transparent, and respectful work environment.
- Act as a liaison to communicate organizational goals, policies, and changes to employees.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial Relations, or related field.
Experience: At least [5+] years of experience in HR and Industrial Relations, with a proven track record of managing employee relations, conflict resolution, and union negotiations.
Certifications: HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, CIPD, or equivalent) is preferred.
Skills:
- In-depth knowledge of HR practices, labor laws, and industrial relations.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Conflict resolution and mediation expertise.
- Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information.
- Proficiency in HR software and Microsoft Office Suite.
