Position Overview:
- We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a Manager - Pharma (Research). This role is ideal for candidates with a strong background in the pharmaceutical industry and expertise in financial modeling, industry analysis, and market intelligence.
- The primary responsibility of this role is to track and analyze the pharmaceutical sector, providing in-depth insights, research updates, and strategic recommendations to internal and external stakeholders. The candidate will be responsible for monitoring industry trends, assessing demand-supply dynamics, analyzing key company performance metrics, and preparing research reports, presentations, and thematic studies.
- Additionally, the Manager will play a crucial role in client interactions, ensuring that stakeholders are regularly updated on market developments, industry events, and key research findings. This role also involves leading new research initiatives, developing thematic reports, and overseeing the work of junior analysts, ensuring adherence to research calendars, compliance guidelines, and industry best practices.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Pharmaceutical Sector Research & Analysis:
- Conduct in-depth research and analysis on the pharmaceutical sector, monitoring market trends, company performance, and financial developments.
- Track high-frequency industry data, including demand-supply trends, pricing movements, trade dynamics, and key financial indicators.
- Analyze macroeconomic and microeconomic factors impacting the pharmaceutical industry, identifying growth opportunities and risk factors.
- Monitor regulatory changes, policy updates, and global healthcare trends, evaluating their impact on the sector.
- Prepare detailed industry research reports, sector updates, and investment insights for internal teams and external clients.
2. Financial Modeling & Company Performance Assessment:
- Conduct detailed financial modeling and valuation analysis for key pharmaceutical companies, assessing profitability, revenue growth, and investment potential.
- Regularly compile and evaluate the financial performance of major players in the pharmaceutical industry, identifying key drivers of success and areas of concern.
- Develop and maintain valuation models, earnings projections, and trend analyses to support strategic decision-making.
- Assess the impact of industry developments, M&A activities, and global pharmaceutical market trends on sectoral performance.
3. Publishing Research Reports & Market Insights:
- Develop and publish periodic research reports, sector outlook studies, and thematic industry updates to provide stakeholders with actionable insights.
- Produce specialized reports covering macroeconomic factors, policy changes, and technological advancements impacting the pharmaceutical industry.
- Write thought leadership articles, whitepapers, and research commentaries on emerging trends, industry challenges, and competitive dynamics.
- Ensure timely dissemination of research findings, industry reports, and investment recommendations to clients and internal teams.
4. Client Interaction & Stakeholder Engagement:
- Act as a trusted advisor to clients, providing regular updates, industry briefings, and strategic recommendations.
- Analyze the impact of major industry events, regulatory announcements, and market shifts, helping clients make informed decisions.
- Conduct one-on-one discussions, conference calls, and virtual meetings with institutional investors, corporate clients, and industry stakeholders.
- Address client queries by providing data-driven insights, financial assessments, and in-depth market research.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver customized research solutions tailored to client needs.
5. Presentations & Thought Leadership:
- Develop and deliver high-impact presentations on pharmaceutical sector trends, investment opportunities, and strategic insights.
- Represent the organization at industry conferences, investor meetings, and panel discussions, showcasing expertise in pharmaceutical research.
- Conduct internal knowledge-sharing sessions to educate colleagues and stakeholders about market developments and sectoral trends.
- Leverage data visualization tools and financial models to create compelling presentations and reports that effectively communicate research findings.
6. New Product Offerings & Custom Research Assignments:
- Lead the development of new research products, customized reports, and thematic studies covering key areas in the pharmaceutical industry.
- Identify emerging trends, technological advancements, and policy changes that could impact investment opportunities and business strategies.
- Work on bespoke research assignments, tailoring sectoral insights and financial assessments to meet client requirements.
- Contribute to innovative research methodologies, data analytics techniques, and AI-driven insights to enhance research quality and efficiency.
7. Process Compliance & Research Calendar Management:
- Ensure strict adherence to research calendars, compliance policies, and internal reporting guidelines.
- Maintain high standards of research quality, accuracy, and credibility, ensuring that published reports meet industry benchmarks.
- Stay updated with regulatory requirements, ethical research standards, and financial disclosure norms, ensuring full compliance in all research activities.
- Implement best practices in research methodologies, data collection techniques, and financial modeling approaches.
8. Team Leadership & Analyst Mentorship:
- Supervise and mentor 1-2 junior analysts, providing guidance on research methodologies, data interpretation, and financial modeling techniques.
- Review research reports prepared by analysts, ensuring data accuracy, analytical depth, and clear presentation of findings.
- Assist team members in developing their analytical skills, enhancing their industry knowledge, and advancing their career growth within the organization.
- Foster a collaborative and knowledge-driven work environment, encouraging continuous learning and professional development.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
1. Educational Background:
- A Master's degree in Finance, Business Administration (MBA), Economics, or a related field.
- Additional certifications in financial modeling, equity research, or industry analysis will be a plus.
2. Work Experience:
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in pharmaceutical industry research and financial modeling.
- Strong expertise in tracking pharmaceutical sector trends, analyzing industry dynamics, and publishing research insights.
- Experience in equity research, investment analysis, or consulting roles focusing on the pharmaceutical industry will be preferred.
3. Technical & Analytical Skills:
- Strong proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting, and valuation techniques.
- Excellent knowledge of industry benchmarking, demand-supply analysis, and trade dynamics.
- Expertise in MS Excel, PowerPoint, Bloomberg, FactSet, and other financial data tools.
- Ability to interpret macroeconomic indicators, policy frameworks, and sector-specific regulations.
4. Soft Skills & Competencies:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
