Manager - Consulting - BFSI (4-8 yrs)

Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated, analytical, and strategic professional to join our team as a Manager - BFSI (Banking, Financial Services, and Insurance) Consulting. This role is ideal for individuals with a strong background in Asset & Wealth Management consulting, Private Equity, and Insurance consulting. The ideal candidate will have the ability to lead a team, execute high-impact consulting projects, and deliver innovative solutions to clients in the BFSI sector.

The Manager - BFSI Consulting will play a crucial role in advising financial institutions, helping them benchmark performance, optimize operations, develop strategic roadmaps, and enhance digital capabilities. The role requires a deep understanding of financial services, competitive benchmarking, regulatory frameworks, and market research methodologies.

The successful candidate will work closely with asset management companies (AMCs), insurance firms, wealth management companies, private equity firms, and alternative investment funds (AIFs). Having experience in at least two or three of these segments will be highly advantageous.

Key Responsibilities:

Consulting Project Execution & Team Leadership:

- Lead and manage end-to-end BFSI consulting projects, ensuring timely delivery, high-quality execution, and measurable impact.

- Supervise and mentor junior consultants and analysts, ensuring they acquire the necessary skills to deliver strategic insights.

- Define project objectives, scope, deliverables, and success metrics, ensuring alignment with client expectations.

- Conduct market intelligence research, assess financial trends, and develop actionable insights for clients.

- Leverage data-driven methodologies to analyze business performance, operational gaps, and competitive positioning.

Industry Specialization in BFSI Segments:

- Work with clients across Asset Management, Wealth Management, Private Equity, Alternative Investment Funds (AIFs), and Insurance.

- Provide specialized expertise in fund manager assessments, actuarial services, and compensation benchmarking.

- Offer advisory support on regulatory compliance, investment strategies, and financial product innovation.

- Develop custom solutions that cater to specific BFSI segments, helping organizations optimize investment strategies and risk management frameworks.

Competitive & Operational Benchmarking:

- Conduct competitive benchmarking analysis to compare client performance against industry peers and best practices.

- Perform operational benchmarking to identify inefficiencies and recommend strategies for cost reduction and performance improvement.

- Evaluate key financial and operational KPIs, developing insights on business transformation, scalability, and market positioning.

- Work with data-driven tools and methodologies to provide quantifiable business recommendations.

Fund Manager & Actuarial Assessments:

- Assess fund managers' investment strategies, risk management approaches, and performance metrics.

- Utilize quantitative and qualitative research methodologies to evaluate fund performance and portfolio allocation strategies.

- Support insurance consulting projects with actuarial assessments, risk modeling, and claims analysis.

- Advise clients on investment risks, capital allocation, and financial sustainability.

Regulatory Consulting & Compliance Advisory:

- Keep track of evolving BFSI regulatory policies, compliance frameworks, and industry standards.

- Assist clients in navigating regulatory changes, ensuring compliance with SEBI, IRDAI, RBI, and other financial regulatory bodies.

- Provide insights on sustainable finance, governance frameworks, and ethical investment mandates.

- Conduct regulatory risk assessments, ensuring that clients remain compliant with local and international financial regulations.

Market Research & Strategic Business Reviews:

- Perform detailed market research to identify industry trends, market dynamics, and emerging investment opportunities.

- Develop strategic roadmaps for business expansion, mergers & acquisitions, and product diversification.

- Work closely with clients to identify new revenue streams, optimize asset allocation, and enhance financial product offerings.

- Prepare detailed business review reports, financial modeling insights, and industry outlook reports to support decision-making.

Digital Transformation & Technology Advisory:

- Guide BFSI firms on digital transformation strategies, fintech partnerships, and technology adoption.

- Provide insights into digital lending, AI-driven wealth management, blockchain applications, and robo-advisory platforms.

- Assist financial institutions in implementing customer-centric digital solutions to enhance engagement and operational efficiency.

- Evaluate the impact of automation, AI, and data analytics on investment management and financial decision-making.

Skills & Competencies Required:

Core Consulting Skills:

- Strong expertise in BFSI consulting, strategic advisory, and financial services industry analysis.

- Ability to develop customized solutions, data-driven recommendations, and business transformation strategies.

- Experience in client presentations, stakeholder communication, and project management.

- Proficiency in developing pitch decks, proposals, and investment presentations.

Industry-Specific Knowledge:

Qualifications & Experience:

- MBA from a recognized institution.

- 4 to 8 years of experience in BFSI consulting, investment research, market analysis, or financial advisory.

- Experience in at least two or three segments from Asset Management, Private Equity, Insurance, Wealth Management, and Alternative Investment Funds (AIFs).
