Job Title: Purchase Engineer Vendor & Fabrication Management

Qualification: BE/B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering
Experience: 3-7 years in vendor management, fabrication coordination

Job Responsibilities:

• Supplier coordination Managing a network of at least 50 suppliers for fabrication, machining, and heavy manufacturing work.
• Fabrication work execution – Ensuring that plates, heavy fabrication, and CNC machine work are completed as per technical drawings.
• Machine work supervision – Visiting supplier locations to ensure machining, cutting, welding, and finishing are executed as per specifications.
• Drawing interpretation – Understanding technical drawings and guiding suppliers to achieve precise fabrication.
• Costing & rate analysis – Expertise in machine per hour rates, fabrication costs, and material pricing to optimize expenses.
• Process monitoring – Overseeing fabrication, CNC machining, and assembly work at supplier sites to maintain quality and timelines.
• Quality control – Ensuring fabricated parts meet industry standards before delivery.
• Vendor evaluation & development – Identifying new suppliers, assessing capabilities, and maintaining long-term supplier relationships.
• Project tracking – Ensuring fabrication and machining processes align with project timelines.

Required Skills:

• Technical knowledge of machining, fabrication, CNC processes, and assembly work.
• Strong supplier network management (Minimum 50 suppliers).
• Ability to read & interpret engineering drawings for work execution.
• Hands-on experience in fabrication, machining, and quality inspection.
• Costing knowledge – Understanding machine per hour rates and fabrication costs.
• Vendor negotiation for timelines, cost, and quality.
• Good communication & coordination to ensure smooth execution with suppliers.
