Software Engineer

Job Overview:

We are seeking a talented and driven PI Engineer with 3-4 years of experience in the PI domain and development, to join our team. This role involves implementing, upgrading, and supporting real-time data management applications using the AVEVA PI suite of products. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in configuring and maintaining PI Data Archive, PI Asset Framework, PI Interfaces, and other PI applications, with a strong focus on seamless data flow, system upgrades, and effective troubleshooting. Additionally, proficiency in object-oriented programming (OOP) concepts and experience with relevant coding languages will be essential for this position.

Key Responsibilities:

Implementation Development: Specialize in implementing and configuring the AVEVA PI suite of products, including PI Data Archive, PI Asset Framework, PI Interfaces (OPC DA, PI to PI, RDBMS, Perfmon), PI ProcessBook, PI Vision, PI Datalink, and PI Builder.
Interface Configuration: Configure and maintain interfaces between PI Servers, ensuring seamless data flow and troubleshooting any related issues.
Upgrade Management: Work on the upgrade of various PI applications, including PI Data Archive, PI Interfaces, PI Connectors, PI Relay, and PI Vision, ensuring system stability and aligning with the latest vendor releases.
Asset Framework: Gather specifications and implement Asset Framework hierarchies across different sites, units, and equipment to optimize data management.
Notification Alerts: Configure analyses and establish alerting mechanisms for proactive system monitoring, improving overall operational efficiency.
Graphical Displays Reporting: Develop and create graphical displays to visualize real-time data for better decision-making.
Troubleshooting: Analyze and resolve issues in PI systems, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum data integrity.
Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and deliver effective PI system solutions.
Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation for system configurations, upgrades, and troubleshooting activities.
Coding Automation: Utilize object-oriented programming (OOP) concepts and languages such as C#, Python, or Java to automate processes, enhance PI system functionality, and create custom solutions where needed.
Required Qualifications:

A qualified engineer with at least 3 years of hands-on experience in the PI domain.
Proficiency in the AVEVA PI suite of products, including:
PI Data Archive
PI Asset Framework
PI Interfaces (OPC DA, PI to PI, RDBMS, Perfmon)
PI ProcessBook
PI Vision
PI Datalink
PI Builder
Strong experience in configuring and managing interfaces between PI Servers.
Proven track record of upgrading PI applications (PI Data Archive, PI Interfaces, PI Connectors, PI Relay, PI Vision).
Familiarity with Asset Framework hierarchies and related data management best practices.
Experience in configuring PI analyses, notifications, and alert mechanisms.
Ability to create visualizations and graphical displays using PI Vision and ProcessBook.
Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex data flow and system integration issues.
Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) Expertise: Proficient in at least one OOP programming language such as C#, Python, or Java.
Experience with automating processes and developing custom solutions using OOP principles.
