Assistant Manager - Security - Rail & Inland Terminals

Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Assistant Manager - Security for our Rail and Inland Terminals. This role is crucial in ensuring the safety and security of rail terminal operations, freight, and personnel while maintaining compliance with safety standards and industry regulations. You will assist the Security Manager in overseeing security operations, implementing security measures, and supervising security personnel to mitigate risks and safeguard terminal assets.

Key Responsibilities:

• Security Oversight: Assist in managing the daily security operations of the rail and inland terminals, ensuring the protection of assets, employees, and equipment.
• Team Supervision: Supervise a team of security officers, ensuring they adhere to security protocols, perform their duties efficiently, and maintain a high level of vigilance.
• Access Control: Implement and manage effective access control procedures for the terminals, ensuring authorized personnel and vehicles are granted access while preventing unauthorized entry.
• Surveillance & Monitoring: Oversee the monitoring of CCTV, alarm systems, and other security technology to ensure real-time surveillance of terminal premises.
• Risk Management: Conduct regular security risk assessments and develop strategies to mitigate identified risks, including potential threats related to cargo theft, vandalism, or sabotage.
• Incident Management: Respond to security breaches, emergencies, and incidents, ensuring proper investigation, reporting, and resolution. Collaborate with law enforcement or emergency response teams when necessary.
• Compliance & Reporting: Ensure compliance with industry regulations, company policies, and safety standards related to terminal operations. Prepare and submit regular security reports to senior management.
• Training & Development: Provide ongoing training to security staff, focusing on safety protocols, emergency response procedures, and effective use of security equipment.
• Security Audits & Inspections: Conduct routine security audits and inspections of terminal facilities to identify vulnerabilities, recommend improvements, and ensure readiness for emergencies.
• Emergency Response: Assist in the development and implementation of emergency response plans for situations such as accidents, fires, or security threats. Lead drills and training exercises to ensure preparedness.
• Collaboration: Work closely with terminal operations and logistics teams to ensure seamless integration of security measures with daily terminal activities.
• Customer & Stakeholder Relations: Maintain a professional relationship with customers, contractors, and law enforcement agencies to ensure efficient communication and resolution of security-related issues.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Security Management, Criminal Justice, Logistics, or a related field (preferred).
